Private show from all accounts.
Keith has been spotted hanging out in an RV behind the club.

If this is a go, I hope Mick doesn't blow out his voice and ruin Saturday's show for the "real people".  That would suck.

Maybe someday they'll do a surprise club show where more than 10% of the audience are fans.

Remember those?

Rolling Stones to Play Secret Show at Belly Up

Rolling Stones also played Petco Park on Sunday
By Hannah Lott-Schwartz

...
Alex Matthews
Mick Jagger will be playing a secret show with the Rolling Stones at the Belly Up on Wednesday.
Updated 35 minutes ago

L.A. isn't the only SoCal city to get a secret show from the Rolling Stones. The iconic rockers, who packed Petco Park on Sunday, are now gearing up for a surprise show at the Belly Up on Wednesday night.

Although the Belly Up would only confirm that a private party had been booked for the night, sources said that the "private party" will actually be another area appearance by the Rolling Stones, paid for by a single individual with very deep pockets.

Video: Rolling Stones at Petco Park

The media had speculated previously that Mick & Co. might be hanging around the area to soak up some rays -- but, hey, since the sun isn’t actually shining, why not just play another show instead since the first one went so well?

Fans were lining up at the iconic Solana Beach venue by early afternoon, hoping for a band sighting (we were told they were already inside) or, even more unlikely, a chance at seeing the show. Also on site: news trucks and 91x's van. It's probably only a matter of time till Boltman shows up ...

The Rolling Stones opened their Zip Code tour in San Diego at Petco Park on Sunday to a sold-out stadium packed with thousands of screaming fans [check out our gallery from the event]. It was their first performance in San Diego in 10 years, when they were the first band to play Petco Park. On Sunday, they rocked through more than two hours of greatest hits [watch the video], pulling out some lesser-known tracks from the band’s expansive catalog before closing the night with an encore of “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” backlit by fireworks.
This wouldn’t be a first for either the Stones (who aren’t scheduled for their next stop on the 15-city Zip Code tour until Saturday, May 30, in Ohio) or the Belly Up (which shows an empty calendar on Wednesday). As we reported last week, the Rolling Stones warmed up for San Diego with a semi-secret show at the Fonda in Los Angeles, announcing it the day of and selling tickets for just $5 a pop. The Belly Up, for its part, played host to a hush-hush private show put on by the William Morris talent agency, who brought in the Foo Fighters, Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett and Aloe Blacc back in January.

You just missed one. Unfortunately, as it was 'you got me rocking', the Stones didn't do the same.

15-song setlist.

Can't Turn You Loose wasn't played due to 'time constraints'

So would I.

I dont really blame the Stones - it's easy money.

But for all the bs about playing because they love to do it and getting a kick out of playing small venues it speaks volumes that the last three club show sized gigs they've played have been a corporate gig in Paris, a club in Hollywood where barely 50 people got tickets in a public sale for a filmed show on front of 700 celebs and hired models, and now a businessman's private birthday party.

They have zero interest in interacting at close quarters with real people. The days of the Double Door club , Toads Place, Palais Royale, the Paradiso and the like are becoming very distant memories unfortunately.

It's all about as rock n roll as a Celine Dion gig

I don't think the Stones did anything wrong here, they are a band for hire and tour ready, so why the fvck not? Maybe they were practicing Crazy Mama and You Got The Blues to dust them off for the upcoming stadiums. I would not be surprised if these songs showed up on the setlists. And I hope they keep Whip too.

Can't Turn You Loose (only if needed)

Sounds like Mr. Victor Whitworth Goodspeed the Third required Mick & the boys to punch a time clock during their short employment.  Blank Frigging Stare

I used to think they were a rock n roll band and not a 'band for
Hire' (who have enough money to pay off a small country's national debt and so hardly need to be 'for hire' to anyone) myself - but hey ho.

Seriously, I do take your point though., it's just sad IMO that the only people with a chance to see an intimate Stones show are film stars and Hollywood bigwigs (many of whom were leaving the Fonda show after 15-20 minutes) , paid models who don't even know who the fuck they are or friends of whichever businessman has hired them this week.

Surely as a fan that's not a 'good' development ?

Wouldn't they rather play to people who, I dunno, actually have a pulse and can appreciate their art? Or are they afraid those sort of audiences might expect something daring ?

Surely I am not happy or excited about this gig, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth too. They enjoy their status as "Rock Icons" and they certainly have the right to play for the rich and famous for a hefty paycheck. Hell I wish I could make that much money in one night. I'm out busting my ass dealing with all sorts of assholes every day and I wont make that much money in a lifetime. So what if they don't need the money, lets face it: everybody likes money and wants more of it. The rich get richer. Money goes to money. And yeah, this gig was all about the money. Ronnie can buy his young wife a new house and new car. Charlie can buy another race horse. Mick can make another movie. Keef is most likely the one who has saved the most for his children. Good for them.

"It's all about as rock n roll as a Celine Dion gig" .. I know ... It's all about 300.00-500 tickets at their major shows and big business tycoons and special invites at the club shows.

Gotta say .. I'm really dissapointed. You may say its been going on for a while ...naaaah ...not at this level. This stadium tours unheard of outrageous ticket prices sealed the deal.

They wonder why Ohio Stadium is not being sold out or selling that well ...? Well because 1. It is a college town ..if you want loads of college kids to come ya gotta keep prices way low.... As well ...in this economy they are asking waaaaay too much. This isnt a special set of five or six shows at major cities to celebrate anything. It is a summer stadium tour ... yet they are acting like the previous with ticket prices. Its entirely their own fault for having the shows not sell that well.

Hell plenty of 40.00 seats .... 85.00 for others ...and 150.00 up front would of helped sell the show.
