Question...with only 14 or 15 shows...do you think they will have the $85 lucky dip seats available this time around?

How did they work? I forgot since the CAROLINAS were so far from the radar in 2013.

Every tour leg since 2013 has been 14-15 shows or less.

There'll be far more tickets for this tour than in 2013 because that tour was all arena dates and this one will mostly be in larger venues.

Like they did on the last US leg of the Bigger Bang tour in late 2006 (the last time they did stadiums in America) they'll have to have some gimmick (back then it was 2 for 1 discounts when even the $99 tickets werent shifting) to get rid of nosebleeds. Especially in stadium shows.

How did the 'lucky dip' ticket work? You bought a ticket in that price range which are sold on a will-call basis, and were for the back of the arena. A small percentage of them (was it around 10%? I cant remember) would be selected for upgrades, enabling you to get access to the pit instead.

For a stadium show? Easy.

I'd advise against booking a flight ahead of an official announcement though. and only book a hotel that offers full refunds in case of cancellation.

Maybe the back part of the fields...also, I would assume that is a venue-by-venue decision as many will still be in use at the time, ex/ PetCo field. The Padres are on the road that weekend as I understand it. When I saw the band in Charlottesville, there were seat on the field. Maybe because of the B stage or runway...or maybe because the school (UVA) wanted it like that for security. It certainly made the evacuation for the bomb threat easier to handle...and that is the only reason i can recall seats on the field.

If they have the tongue pit who knows?

Leaky show causing backpeddleing:

http://buffalo.com/2015/03/12/featured/rolling-stones-update-san-diego-show-leak...

With The Rolling Stones' stadium tour dates expected to be announced soon, a San Diego show at Petco Park to open the Stones' summer schedule has been leaked, via UT San Diego.

No further locations or dates have been confirmed, but Buffalo has been rumored as a possible destination.

On Tuesday, The News' Jeff Miers chimed in on the speculation, citing SongMango.com as the original source and noting that the Stones hadn't performed live in Buffalo since the 1997 visit to Rich Stadium.

While local radio station 97 Rock has teased a concert announcement at 5 p.m. today, the outlet tweeted that the Rolling Stones will NOT be the show that's unveiled.

Also, worth noting is that March 12 is the 47th anniversary of when the Stones began recording "Jumpin' Jack Flash" at Olympic Studios in London, the Buffalo Music Store passed along today on Facebook.

We'll have a MAJOR concert announcement at some point tomorrow (not the Stones!). Will Tweet it as soon as we do... Guesses?

I wouldnt bet on it.

Stones audiences = older audiences = more income = more likely to need to sit down.

Its been a trend on recent tours to go for all seated venues as much as possible (the pit area on the last tour being an exception).

Theyd rather charge you $800 to sit than charge you $300 to stand. Although in the US last time they were looking for about $800-1,000 to let you stand in the pit!

In 1981 MSG tickets were $12.50 for the first 10 rows on the floor...as a matter of fact, the whole show was $12.50 except for behind stage obstructed view seats which were still a whopping $10.50...those were expensive prices then as most shows in NY were $4-8.00 plus the horrible
35 cents service charge by Ticketron...where have we gone as a society???

Wish I had stock in SongMango...

http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2015/03/rolling_stones_planning...

CLEVELAND, Ohio - It has been nearly 13 years since The Rolling Stones performed in the Cleveland area. Yet, despite a rumored 2015 tour, fans will likely have to wait longer until the band arrives again.

News broke this week that The Rolling Stones are plotting a 2015 North American tour that will hit 14 cities this summer. According to Songmango.com, the tour will visit a variety of stadiums and amphitheaters, and feature the band playing its 11th studio album, "Sticky Fingers," in its entirety.

Check out our complete list of upcoming concerts in Greater Cleveland.

The tour will reportedly kick off on May 24 at San Diego's Petco Park and then hit venues in Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Milwaukee, Chapel Hill, Indianapolis, Colorado, New York City and Canada.

Those venues aren't confirmed. However, if true, the report does leave a few slots open. Could Cleveland be one of them? Probably not.

The last time The Stones played Cleveland was in 2002 on the Licks Tour. The band has had just two major tours since then, both of which skipped Northeast Ohio. Though, Mick, Keith and company did play Columbus in 2005 (The nerve!).

$12.50 in 1981 = $34.01 today according to: http://www.dollartimes.com/inflation/inflation.php?amount=1&year=1981
