Verbal confirmation that the rumors are speculative and the four cities mentioned are poised to host the Stones should there be any type of official announcement in the near future:

I have to believe that all of these outlets are not going purely on the SongMango article.  Just as I don't believe the SongMango article was built purely on rumors of this and other boards.

There is a tour coming.
It has to be announced soon given the timing of the shows.
Many of the "rumors" have been leaking out of camps in the know.
So doubt all you want pal, but where there is smoke there is often fire.

Oh, I dont doubt there will a tour announcment made very soon...but everyone is saying the same thing...quoting SongMango (presumably, since they were the first to actually "say it")..and I do not think it is too far fetched that they got their news from RO or any other fan board...there are a few reliable sources here and on Shidoobee et al...and dont doubt I wont be jiffy lubing with you TomL , L J , and  Saint Of Me either!!

I would be shocked beyond belief if they play Sticky Fingers. There's just no way they would perform I Got The Blues, Sister Morphine, Dead Flowers and Moonlight Mile and keep the casual fans interested.

Hell, die hards walk out during Keith's numbers.

I call BS on this rumor, especially since Sticky Fingers isn't a party record outside of Brown Sugar, Bitch and Can't You Hear Me Knocking...

True, although maybe as much to do with the audience's ageing and deteriorating bladders as anything else. Smiley

The reason why the shows have become more of a warhorse fest each year is because MICK thinks the crowd will get bored if HE sings anything else. Thats right, the greatest front man on earth appears to have self confidence issues in keeping an audience entertained for prolonged periods.

He even mentioned that on the No Security tour when they'd dig out stuff like 'Moonlight Mile' and he'd look down at the front rows who would be looking back at him as if to say "what the fuck is this?" (his words).

And that was back in the days when a Stones audience mostly consisted of people who actually bought their records.

As you said above and earlier in the thread - playing a suite of songs thats mostly going to consist of slow stuff like Moonlight Mile, Sister Morphine, You Gotta Move and the like?

They'd have got away with that 20 years ago and maybe back then they would have had the balls to try it. But to attempt it now? In a stadium?

Hard to imagine, to be honest.

I read this on Facebook:

The Stones' 2015 North American Tour - running from late May into July - is expected to be confirmed in the next few days, with some 14-15 shows to be announced. Its believed that most shows will take place in cities which the band DIDN'T visit in 2013 and it'll be a mixture of arenas, stadiums, outdoor amphitheaters and maybe some festival sites.Amongst the cities heavily rumored :

San Diego
Los Angeles
Denver (Red Rocks)
Kansas City
Indianapolis
Milwaukee
Buffalo
Pittsburgh
New York
Columbus/Cleveland
Atlanta

plus possibly a show in Florida, one in the Pacific Northwest and one in Canada.

This list isn't exhaustive and obviously none of these locations are official as yet
so some may not happen

Another SongMango quote:

http://www.post-gazette.com/ae/music/2015/03/11/Rolling-Stones-to-play-Heinz-Fie...

Looks like we might be in for a British Invasion.

Reports on various websites this week indicate The Rolling Stones will announce a 14-date summer tour as early as today and Pittsburgh is expected to be one of the cities.

According to Songmango.com, the legendary band will play the entire "Sticky Fingers" album each show, tied to the re-issue of the 1971 classic that included such songs as "Brown Sugar," "Wild Horses" and "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" (along with a very druggy side two with rarely played “Sister Morphine”). There is no word yet whether Mick Taylor, the guitarist featured on that record, will join the band on tour.

It is expected to kick off in late May at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The local date, according to sources, will be June 20 at Heinz Field, marking the band's first appearance at the North Shore stadium.

The last time we saw the Rolling Stones here was September 2005 at PNC Park on The Bigger Bang Tour, which ran through 2007. There was no Pittsburgh date when the Stones regrouped for The 50 & Counting Tour, celebrating their 50th anniversary, in 2013.

The Stones played their first Pittsburgh show 51 years ago on June 17, 1964, at the West View Park Danceland.

Songmango also reports that to coincide with these upcoming dates, Ron Wood is releasing a book of his 1965 tour diary in June. The Stones did their first large-scale Pittsburgh show that year, headlining the Civic Arena on Nov. 24 with the Byrds.

And another NOT quoting SongMango:

http://www.startribune.com/entertainment/blogs/295956931.html

Rolling Stones fans’ tongues are wagging over rising rumors that the bad septuagenarians of British rock ‘n’ roll are getting ready to announce a U.S. summer tour. There’s no official word yet, but local sources have pointed to the itinerary including a Minneapolis date at TCF Bank Stadium sometime in June.

Adding more enticement to the tour rumors: There’s widespread speculation that the band plans to play its landmark 1971 album “Sticky Fingers” in its entirety at shows this summer. That’s the record that gave us “Brown Sugar,” “Wild Horses” and “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” (and fan-beloved deep cuts like “Sway,” “Moonlight Mile” and “Sister Morphine”).

Minneapolis is not mentioned as one of the cities in current reports going around the web, such as a widely circulated story on the music news site SongMango. However, a June 22 date in Milwaukee has been listed, which could mean the Twin Cities comes before or after that show. (Or it at least points to a good road trip opportunity for Minnesota fans).

The rumored kick-off date for the tour is May 24 in San Diego, and shows at the Hollywood Bowl, Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater and Indianapolis Motor Speedway are also cited. All that points to them planning to play outdoor venues like the Gophers Stadium.

Mick and the gang are definitely due here. Their last Twin Cities performance was in September 2005 at Xcel Energy Center.

Again, though, this is all just speculation. Don’t take out your bank loan quite yet if you want to plan ahead to buy tickets.

Indeed. All the information is gleaned from IORR, RocksOff and Shidoobee. Why are only a few cities mentioned in these news articles? There are at least 15 concerts/cities on this tour. Only 3-4 cities keep coming up. And no mention of a concert that may be right in your neighborhood (40 min. drive), Paranoid Android?

I can see the $$$$tones legal and finance teams saying, WHOA!

This would polarize the audience so badly I think...no chance for the little guy.

Amphitheaters are the way to go...100% of the 20K plus seats in front of the stage (not 1/4 seats behind the stage unused)..too bad the amphitheater tours have gotten a bum rap the last few years with all the packaged tours...Chicago/REO/Kansas...all the Hair metal bands...80's one hit wonders...Aerosmith/Kiss...all the odd pairing too like Cheap Trick/ZZTop .

They are a great place to see shows out in the open w/o the stadium expirience

I guess we can now feel pretty confident a tour (mini) is on Mango or no Mango.......
1.Playing Sticky 100% may happen at the club warm up...but no way its a staple
2. Stadiums.....and warhorses have diminished appeal for me at the prices I expect to see
3. They will need some sort of stage gimmick but whats left undone?
