Diabetes sucks! Hubby found out he had it the hard way. He passed out at work. His blood sugar was so high it couldn't be measured.

If you have to find out you have it, finding out early is a great thing in the long run. If you can control it with diet and exercise you will avoid all of the nasty complications that can come with it. After all of the years we have been dealing with it, the number one thing you find out is that sweets isn't the worst thing in your diet. It's starch - bread, white potatoes, corn, etc. Keep that stuff under control and you can have a sweet treat now and again. Hubby's dietician even recommends a glass of red wine once a week.
