PARIS TRAIN TRAVEL INFO

Alert Board Moderator about this Post!
for all the foreigners (as am sure the froggies are aware already); If you are coming by train be aware of....

STRIKES!!!!

It started today & seems to go on through the weekend.

The strike means that they cancel certain trains
(I received a mail yesterday for the train tomorrow eve)

So check your train(s) schedule(s) before to see if your train is cancelled..

IF your train is cancelled you are allowed to take
ANY other train for that SAME route for the DURATION of
the strike. (IE between now & probably sunday)

though obviously seating is then not guaranteed.

Oh and once last thing....; bienvenue en France!

Planned strikes are awesome...US workers can take a lesson...
The only US one I know about is in DC when the illegals all go on strike and the
hospitality industry grinds to a halt...nothing funnier than a 5star hotel manager
running sheets between floors...

I once took a train from Paris to Amsterdam...or so I thought.

When we arrived in Brussels we were told to get out because there was a strike. Because it was a Sunday, I had to search the entire city for an open travel agency to book me a flight to Amsterdam. Fortunately I found that one open agency.

As for the flight itself, that's a story for another time.

Amsterdam?  I'm almost afraid to ask, what were you doing in Amsterdam?  Visiting museums, I presume?  Ha!
