Hmmm. Let's try to understand this...
He runs their biggest fan site. He stands out in the rain
and cold religiously for two weeks in hopes of getting
admitted into the rehearsals. But absolutely no one in
the Stones camp slips him the word on when and
where to position himself, so he misses out and looks
like a fool.
I'd like to think this is a giant purposeful dis for him
from the Stones, because of the increasingly
unbalanced way he was running the fan site.
Can you imagine? He bans anyone talking exactly
the way Mick and Keith talk about marijuana, that is,
realistically, because he doesn't want anyone to
associate (his) Stones fans with it. He bans a thread
on favorite records of the 1950s, even if they are the
exact same tunes that inspired Mick and Keith in the
first place, apparently because he doesn't want
anyone to think that (his) Stones fans might skew a
bit on the old side. He bans any talk of Taylor's
weight or temperment or possible career mistakes.
He's even gone so far as to tightly restrict talk about
the ticket prices, or comparisons with how Bruce
does things...
And has anyone EVER heard him admire a piece of
music that was not by the Stones? How can you be a
big Stones fan and not be a big fan of lots of
different music? When he was asked his giant Stones
fantasy, it was to go out running with Mick ?!?
Then there's this bizarre claim to have two million
people visiting his Stones site, when the real number
is maybe 60 thousand.
So yeah, I'm hoping what happened in Paris was a
purposeful dis from the Stones. But if its just a case
of this voodoo doll I bought starting to work, so be it.
Wow has it really gotten that anal over there? I occasionally post there with the username andrewt and I know lighthearted banter seems to be equated with trolling for some weird reason but pot references being verboten? Yikes. Come to think of it, I did refer to Bill Wyman as "grumpy" recently and that post went missing...
