Mick Jagger has given the clearest indication yet that the Rolling Stones could tour again after admitting he was “blown away” by the band’s summer shows at Hyde Park and Glastonbury.
The 70-year-old rock ’n’ roll legend paid tribute to his partner L’Wren Scott, speaking of his pride in the model and designer as she picked up a prestigious award in London last night.
Victoria Beckham was also at the Harper’s Bazaar Women Of The Year Awards, and won the special contribution to British fashion gong.
Jagger described the Stones’ July shows in Hyde Park as “perfect”- and a “great ending” to a tour of Europe and North America to mark the band’s 50th anniversary.
At the event at Claridge’s, where Scott was named tastemaker of the year, he told the Standard: “This summer was really good for us. I feel really happy and I had a really fantastic time in the last year. It was a great ending at Glastonbury and Hyde Park.” When asked if the band would return, he added: “We were blown away. I’d love to do it again.” He said of Scott: “She really deserves it. I’m really, really proud of her.”
