Not the best songs ever (I purposely omited their most well known song), but a decent tracklist for a 30-40ish minute soft rock country record), but if one Eagles album consisted of those innocent tracks , maybe nobody would hate the band. (Unfortunately the Eagles weren't strong on the melodic side, but I like to focus on the goodness.)
Peaceful easy feeling. My god. And Gram Parsons could hardly sell a record.
You are correct, mi amigo. A nice, and noticeably short, list of what should be forgotten biff songs. But we have American music radio (a significantly bigger and proven scam than the alleged problems with American political media.) The Eagles got a lot more play than that. They were everywhere and everyone loved and still loves them.
If that miserable little list was it, and it should be, the Eagles would have been as harmless as Seal & Crofts, and maybe CSN. But that stuff, and dozens of other useless, soulless material, made them the biggest American band of all time. That is the truly disgusting aspect. So, its not the Eagles and their awful, dated, bland songs with equally awful lyrics - its their legions of fans, none of whom should ever post here again.
