“What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there,” he says. “All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.” - Keef

You have to keep in mind that this was something John said at one period of his life, he was bitter with everything that was going around at the time, him & Mick have been friends for years & even after this remain friends, the only thing Mick said about it was "does this mean we're going break up then" (if supposedly they follow everything The Beatles did 3 months after)

John always needed something to be bitter about. He made some valid points about copying etc but as usual his pompous tude shines through. If he was alive today he'd be so bitter about Stones $$ tours it would have drove him nuts.

The comparison of "We Love You" to "All You Need Is Love" is laughable.

Clearly one is a plodding and elementary song, and the other is majestically moving and heartfelt....

JL had been fair-ish to choose to disappearerize after 1974 and MJ was fair to tease that, shirley. Gawd knows how Jogger felt after 'Winston' popped off. MJ's sprint through the crowd, during the 1981 tour, was interesting.
It would be fascinating - but deeply intrusive - to know how Liz Jagger and Sean Lennon's relationship unfolded and panned out.
Was there anyone white who MJ could compare to / compare himself to after JL?
MJ's "gimme da tru'" in 'Low Down' is my favourite little nod to Winst'.

All captured for posterity in book form in 'Lennon Remembers'.

A book that probably should have been called 'Everyone except Yoko is a c**t'.
