What time is the curfew ?

10.30 seems to be the norm for outdoor shows in London. That was always the case for Wembley and Twickenham and  Hard Rock Calling pulled the plug on Bruce at Hyde park last year when he went over a 10.30 pm curfew and was still playing at about 10.40-10.45

It seems on BST's website that the times have been revised to 20:30- 22:15, 105 minutes. Still not long enough!

I always expected both Glalstonbury & Hyde Park to have slightly shorter sets than normal, as they were festivals, but still to be around the two-hour mark.

If theyre on at 8.30 they'll probaly play until 10.30. Still hoping for at least two hours. But if each days brings us an extra 15 minutes, maybe by Saturday we'll get a full length show!

the band are due onstage at 20.30, which translates as 20.45 as the time that they actually hit the stage.

20.45-22.30 = 1.75 hour length show

The line up shows a 45 minute gap between each of the opening acts, but half an hour between the Vaccines (7pm - 8 pm) and the Stones (8.30 - 10.15). That makes no sense at all. If anything, youd expect shorter change over times during the day and maybe 45 mins before the main event.

I'd still expect some of the opening acts to be on a bit earlier than scheduled and the time between sets to be shorter. Hoping we get two hours minimum.

To add insult to injury. Bon Jovi's slot for the Friday night - 7.20 until 10.15.

Fair play to them for taking care of their fanbase. I only hope our band will do likewise.

Jagger: Same songs, no butterflies

Mick Jagger has hinted the Rolling Stones might play the same set list at Saturday's Hyde Park gig that they played first time round in 1969 - but there will be no repeat of the stunt that saw him release hundreds of butterflies into the crowd.

This weekend's performance comes almost 44 years to the day since they played the famous free concert in the central London park.

That gig, on July 5 1969, was only two days after the death of founder member Brian Jones and marked the live debut of his replacement guitarist, Mick Taylor.

The singer told Absolute Radio's Pete Mitchell: "Obviously, the same set list is going to be used, it saves me having to think."

The 1969 gig kicked off with Jagger reading extracts from a poem by Shelley in tribute to Jones, the band's founder, who was found dead in his swimming pool at home.

Jagger admitted that this time the songs might be played "in a slightly different order", saying: "I'll put them in the butterfly boxes and then throw them in there cut out and then shake them and then see what comes out and in what order."

He said there would be no butterflies released because they "didn't go down very well last time". He said: "I think we got a lot of complaints from the park because they didn't know we were going to do it and they were, of course, the wrong kind of butterflies and they went on to eat the wrong kinds of... Anyway they weren't happy."

The stage at Hyde Park is being covered in model oak trees in a nod to the first time the rockers played at the venue. The Sun reported that the 70ft fake trees have been planted on top of the stage to recreate the feel of their performance in 1969.

A source said: "When Mick and the band looked out from the stage back in the Sixties all they could see was a sea of people and a load of trees, but many of those have been cleared or replanted since. So they want to recreate the woodland. As you can see from the pictures, the two oak trees either side are absolutely massive. They want it to look as authentic as possible."

:: The Barclaycard British Summertime Music Festival runs from July 5-14 in Hyde Park, and also features Bon Jovi, Elton John and JLS.

From what Ive been reading on the internet, there are actually a lot of people taking this seriously - and some are only doubting its validity because the 'by request' choices are all post-1969 songs. Smiley

Sorry if this has been cleared up elsewhere, but I'm pretty confident Gary Clark Jr isn't playing tomorrow anymore? Pretty disappointed cause I'm not a fan of the other warmups.

<< Somebody on the Shidoobee FB page said Mick was talking about recreating the setlist from the 69 Hyde Park show. COnsidering they still play %90 of it.......Should'nt be too hard>>

The original setlist:

        I'm Yours and I'm Hers
        Jumpin' Jack Flash
        Mercy Mercy
        Down Home Girl

        Stray Cat Blues
        No Expectations
        I'm Free
        Loving Cup
        Love in Vain

        (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
Hyde Park Women ( well, they did Glasto Girl instead of Factory Girl, right?)
        Midnight Rambler
        Street Fighting Man
        Sympathy for the Devil

Keep LiV...drop the other 3 covers and sub in SMU / MY / D&G...THAT would be a show for EVERYONE to enjoy...oh yeah...drop I'm Free and slide in CYHMK

This would fit into any time restraints that are looming...and time for some long ass poetry reading that everyone is too high to make sense of...

Music producer Bob Clearmountain adds magic touch to Rolling Stones' Hyde Park setlist

ANTHONY BARNES   FRIDAY 05 JULY 2013

Celebrated music producer Bob Clearmountain is being flown in to put his magic touch on The Rolling Stones' return to London's Hyde Park tomorrow.

The band will give a headline performance at the outdoor venue for the first time since their historic free concert almost 44 years ago.

And Grammy-nominated Clearmountain - renowned for his work as a live mix engineer - has been lined up to ensure recordings of the show are up to scratch.

The Stones will play two shows at Hyde Park, with the second next Saturday, and both will be filmed and recorded. It is thought the sound recordings will go on to be sold through the iTunes Store, while footage is expected to form a future DVD release.

Although Clearmountain is not working on the sound which concertgoers will hear, he will be making the sure the sound of the recordings is the best it can be. He has previously worked on live albums Stripped, Still Life and Live Licks for the band, and also worked on their studio albums Tattoo You, including the single "Miss You".

The band's performance at Hyde Park comes just days after their much anticipated show as headliners at Glastonbury last weekend which saw them run through many of their best known hits.

Frontman Sir Mick Jagger has already hinted that the concert will feature many of the songs from the band's set list when they played their free show in 1969.

In an interview with Absolute Radio's Pete Mitchell, he said: "Obviously, the same set list is going to be used, it saves me having to think."

The previous gig, on July 5 1969, came just two days after the death of founder member Brian Jones and marked the live debut of his replacement guitarist, Mick Taylor. The performance kicked off with Sir Mick reading extracts from a poem by Shelley in tribute to Jones, who was found dead in his swimming pool at home.

There has been speculation that the band would be welcoming some guest performers to the stage, but it now seems more likely that the band themselves will be the main focus although former guitarist Mick Taylor will join them as he did at Glastonbury. Support act Gary Clark Jr, the blues guitarist, may also put in an appearance with the Stones.

As ever, there will be a few starry VIP guests at the show, which forms part of the new Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time festival, who are expected to include Kate Moss among others.

It seems very weird not being in London for this event.  I am very sad to be missing this show and all of you.  The only thing that will make it less painful is if they do indeed only play for 90 minutes or less.( just kidding..)

Hope all you crazies have a wonderful show!  With alcohol and friends, that will definitely be the only logical outcome ...
