I hope you'd a great night with them! Good traclist. but the encores are always the usually.  Now the songs look always to be almost the same of every show. I still got my doubts, honestly on the 2 'new songs'  .. Maybe I'd never lsiten to them well. Giving them another chance.
Then are they going in Ca?  Such great to can see them again on stage. Whether I can't be there, well is the same. Just hope you whose went at the gig had enjoyed it.  Waka Jawaka

OK, SO I'VE BEEN THE BIGGEST NITPICKING CRITIC OF THIS BAND AND I'D LIKE TO STATE THE FOLLOWING.
THEY BLEW DOORS OFF LAST NIGHT.
I GOT LUCKY AS HELL TO GET $85 SECTION 114 TICKETS.
18TH SHOW AND IVE NEVER HAD BETTER SEATS.
CROWD WAS GREAT ALL NIGHT.
GOT TO MEET STEEL WHEELS,BITCH, & SWEET VIRGINIA AND GET A MARY BUTTON.
THE SHOW WAS LONG ENOUGH.
I'VE GOT TO GO REST.
GOTTA DO IT AGAIN FRIDAY.

Going to withhold playing "Monday morning Quarterback" until I hear from
SV, Steel Wheels, Nanky, Perks and TomL.

Looking at the setlist overall, I'm still sitting pretty with Chicago II under my belt.

Just a theory, Wiseb', but maybe it's the presence of MT that, to a fair degree - and being secretly sentimental sausages - has made them explore/home in on/concentrate quite a lot on the 1969-ish/post-Brian song-vibe. Maybe if Bill W had been in tow they would have sprung more '70s and '80s stuff. Anyway... we can all quibble. I'm still waiting for 'Hey Negrita', 'Might As Well Read Proust', 'High Wire' and 'Too Much Blud' (and 'Rice Krispies' for good measure).

You're really sitting around waiting for those?  We can't even get songs off more popular albums/singles.  Don't hold your breath - with these guys your face will REALLY turn blue.

And my other nitpicky thing about these guys is this:  I walked out of Boston 2 having thought for the entire evening that I'm happy my ticket didn't cost me more than $100.  I would have felt super ripped off.  I can't believe people paid a ton of money to see this show.  They still haven't beaten (in this post 1989/modern era) the Licks tour setlists.

The war horses march on...

My question for you wiseblood.

Why did you bother going to another show when you didn't care for Boston??

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but the show I saw in Chicago on 05/31 was WELL WORTH the 600.00 price of admission.

Yeah, I'm with LJ here; the war horses might sound tired from a distance.  But that is NOT the case in person.  This band is still kicking Major Ass!

I had a great time meeting fellow Rocks Off members before going inside the venue to witness the greatest musical act of all time. We really are the best board with the best fans. Everyone was super nice and I couldn't have asked for a better pre-concert gathering.

The MIGHTY ROLLING STONES burned the house down to the ground with blistering Fender and Gibson firepower, Mick was 4 times the showman he usually is, and Charlie Watts POUNDED the hell out of that drum kit.

It was the finest musical performance I have ever seen, and my nosebleed tickets turned out to be the best seats in the house as I was able to dance dance dance the entire night.

The Stones proved yet again that they are the best. The title is theirs and there will never be a threat to the crown.

Notes about the show: Mick's guitar had problems during Doom and Gloom. Brad's vintage Telecaster sounded sweet! Mr. Jones' bass playing is superb. People moved away from my section when I started to dance. Oh well!

I'm with Perks. The nitpicking—and, oh, I'm a nitpicker—only makes sense when you're staring at a computer screen. ... The drive from D.C. took me four freakin' hours, but I made it in time, rendezvoused with the great Left Shoe Shuffle, and self-upgraded:) our lotto tickets to the 111 section.

Great show. Paisley was a highlight. Believe it.

Home by 2:30. Wiped.

Yep, everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it is wrong.

I don't even know how many shows I have been to but last night's was amazing.

Early on Mick asked how everyone was doing, and he mumbled something like "I'm doing pretty well myself tonight"  and he REALLY was.  He put on a show like I have never seen from him --he was full of piss and vinegar and was really into the Philly crowd (which was exceptionally into this show and very interactive).  It was contagious - the whole band got into it.  At one point, I believe during Sympathy, Mick came down the left side of that tongue and I really don't think his feet touched the stage -- he was floating!

A couple of days ago someone said Mick looked tuckered out.
Well, he got some rest -- holy shit that guy is just absolutely amazing.  Stunning.

If anyone got tired, I thought that Keith looked tired by the end.  But his playing was dead-on -- aside from a few guitar issues here and there, his sound was full, crisp and clean, contrary to what others had said about Keith's tone.  Sounded good to hear our hero just cranking because for me, the hook that got me in the first place was that Keith guitar.

Most improved player is Ronnie Wood.  Thank god he got his shit in a pile since ABB, because his playing has really filled out their sound.  Played the B-bender a lot last night and it sounded fucking great.  Gotta get me one of those -- they look like fun.

Charlie - really!  That fucker can sure make some noise!  During Sympathy and Start Me Up, Jesus I am shocked he didn't bust through those drums.

Mick Taylor -- naturally could have seen more of him, but just seeing him was amazing.  He is having the time of his life -- you can just see it.  Howe can he not miss that!

Paisley was great and Dead Flowers got a nice extra guitar solo from him.  It was delightful.  Nice to see a guest in proper attire too (the Stones shirt, not the cowboy hat (goober))!

I won't give a song-by-song.  The setlist was shorter and not particularly creative, but seriously it really did not matter.  After a 7-year hiatus, it is great to be sore, hoarse, and 3 pounds lighter than I was yesterday.

Was great seeing everyone and nice meeting a few new folk.
SV - nice to finally meet you -- cannot wait to see your pics.

I saw so many faces, I cannot even remember y'all.  See many of you in DC!

The rain kinda screwed the pre-party plans up, and somehow we got separated from the rest of the RO crew which is unfortunate.  I did get to Xfinity, but it was so packed and I ended up outside by the firepit.  Ran into Dawn -- she's so sweet!

And when I say rain.  Wow....just as I was coming into Philly, the skies opened up and it poured for a solid 20 minutes.  Traffic was at a near stand-still.  I got off exit 17 and it was flooded.  Thank god I had the 4-wheel - they closed it down right behind me.

Saw Moongoddess back at the hotel just as I was getting to ready leave.  Sorry it was such a short chat, but thank you for the kind words and prayers -- your thinking of me was touching.

Worth all the bucks I paid, and truly one of the best shows I have ever seen.

One thing I forgot to mention -- the Mary pins.

I donned mine at the hotel bar and throughout the night at the hotel, XFinity and the show, I had a bunch of people ask me about it!

When I explained it, one woman was just blown away at how great she must have been to have her friends make pins and all wear them for the tour.

All I said was "you have no idea"

Sorry - another thing -- I feel like Columbo...

At the end of Satisfaction, Charlie decided he wasn't done.
He sat there and tapped out a little rock and roll, and Mick Taylor....who also wasn't done, just started jamming.  Keith and Ronnie came back over to join but it was just a quick little improv (the missing song maybe?) -- cool as hell -- I got the feeling this was not a normal occurence?

Brad Paisley is the real deal...best guest so far...they probably should've had him rip HTW as well.

Good job Stones.

Did Keith ignore Brad?

THEY WERE HAVING A BLAST LAST NIGHT.
THE PLACE WAS PACKED AND RAUCOUS AND THEY FED OFF IT.
RONNIE'S PLAYING HAS GIVEN THE BAND SUCH A KICK IN THE ASS.
KEITH IS BETTER,BUT HE SHOULD JUST STOP TRYING TO TO DO SOLO'S.
THEY ARENT DONE AFTER ENGLAND SHOWS.
NOT WHEN THEY CAN PLAY THIS WELL.

Couldn't agree more.

They would be foolish to stop -- obviously they cannot play with the vim and vigor of...well...50-year olds.

But their playing is really as solid as ever.
And if Keith stood still to play a solo, it would probably sound better...but he loves just walking around and taking in the crowd.  Can't say as I blame him -- that tongue stage really allows the band to connect with the audience.

During Start Me Up, Ronnie was running around the thing like a kid who just stole liquor!  He was really on last night.

Thanks to EVERYONE for wearing them.
Thanks to SV and Fabio for making them happen.

All throughout her struggle, "we" often used "the next Tour" when her will to fight was running out. "Hang on Mary; the Stones aren't done. You can't give up".

So nice to see that image in so many photos.

Seriously!

We all have our dream set lists, and at this point, I have heard so many songs, I rarely hear any new ones.

And it is easy to get caught up on that and miss the impact of the show as a whole.

Questions like how did the show fit together, was there a good tightness between the band, and energy between the band and crowd.

When it clicks, it is noticeable and last night it was just amazing how well it clicked!!!  In fact, the more I think about it, the more I realize the show had a real twangy feel for much of the night -- and it held together nicely.  Wild Horses, Dead Flowers -- worked in nicely with other twang ass shit like You Got the Silver and even Walk Before They Make Me Run with Ronnie on the B-Bender.  Really a fun show.
