Hey folks!

Better late than never...

The first of 2 Toronto shows. I lucked in with 85s for both. Got into town early with my dad and Toronto Tom (Shidoobee). Had an early dinner, then over to Loose Moose for some drinks.

The random draw put me in sec 307 - rear, left corner. Far back/up, but we had a T-bar ceiling about 15 feet above and in front of us which seemed to channel the sound right to us. Probably the best-sounding concert I've ever seen at the Air Canada Centre. A certain highlight considering the mediocre seats.

No real surprises. Tour debut for Angie. ER back in - as you all know by now. Highlights for me were very good renditions of Street Fighting Man, Miss You (and I'm not a big fan!), Tumbling Dice, Satisfaction and JJF. This version of JJF reminded me of the raw energy Keith had at the Double Door in Chicago in '97.

Looking forward to #2 next week!

I think it's time I stay off the Boards.
I'm about to see the Band for the first time since 2006.
I've waited a long time and never thought I'd see them again.

I'm very excited and I'm not going to let the RO, IORR and Shidoobee nitpickers ruin this for me.

This will NEVER be the 1969-72 Stones. Keith ain't EVER going to play the way he did in his heyday.

Lady J -
You've probably gone into board-hiberation by now, to avoid silly sausages (like yourself) who grumble-grumble.
I'm amused by the idea that you started loving the Stains in 1973 and yet consider that 1969-1972 was their heyday.
I suspect they sound oodles better live now than back then. In 1972 they hadn't learnt to be funky or to have the degree of swing which they have now and barely anyone moved an inch on stage except MJ, and other such things. Back then it was trebley solos (which would sound old-fashioned now) and not much weaving. And I find it hard to believe that back then Charles' drums were mic-ed up anything like as lovely-ly as now (wait until you hear them - blooming exquisite, to my mind). They are more solid as a band now, less pretentious, less up themselves, with a richer sound, and so on...
Long may they adopt and extend their grooves.

Damn. Did you watch the video of Rambler? Isnīt beautiful what happens from 08:10 to the 09:00 mark?  Jagger is almost saying "come on Taylor, follow my lines like we used to". Beautiful moment. Two Micks jamming. I wish I could see the look on their faces. Do you remember the last time you saw Jagger that "loose"? Thank you one more time, Taylor!

Great sequence. A moment of Jagger spontaneity that only Taylor could have contributed to. More, please!
