he's on UMG, he's from Ontario and the Stones are playing two shows in Toronto in the next few weeks.

he also seems to have some good dope in his tour entourage at present.

Just checked his tour schedule - and thankfully, on the day I see the Stones at Hyde Park (6th July) he'll be performing elsewhere.

In some shithole called Omaha, no less. Blank Frigging Stare

I was going to ask, is the reason they are having all these guests almost every other night because it is a special 50 year sort of Anniversary tour? ....

....or is this a new marketing thing for them they plan on doing from here on out since their will be less shows, they have to spruce them up as much as they can?

Any idear whether this is a "one time thing" on this tour to have so very many special guests almost every other show (in which I think it is) or is it going to be like this from here on out at Stones mini-tours?

All of these guests - bar Waits & Raitt - are on UMG. (GaGa is on UMG too)

Theyve picked a different song each time.

Everything is pointing in one direction here, unfortunately - and thats an album of live duets with (mostly or exclusively) other UMG artists.

If so, it'll be the most horrendous and cheesy thing they've ever done - where guest artists are measured by the fact they share a record label rather than any musical connection. A nightmare hodge podge of crossover duets which will appeal to almost no one. The ultimate corporate whore release.

I would like McCartney or Pete Townshend to guest at Hyde Park, wishful thinking as he is on tour at the same time, purely so I can say that I've seen them and won't have to fork out to see them seperately.

This could be the scariest prospect ever. So cynical. The Stones have long been coasting on their legacy and catalog, but this move would be an indefensibly lame one. Though, unfortunately, it does seem like something that Mick would happily sign onto. It would be a last hurrah money grab and it would kill any vestige of the "bad boy" image that defined them for so long. Whoring out their own songs for a 30 silver pieces. As far as sales goes that figure isn't far off. The Rolling Stones-Shitting Their Own Bed...with guests! Weak! Should this ever happen it would officially shut the door on my fandom. I'd still listen to the records, but as for any future releases, merch., tickets, etc. you can count me out. I hope you're wrong Gazza, but I suspect you aren't.
