Makes me wonder if Mick & Keith are picking the guests on alternate shows.

The promoter and ticket prices and Mick and Keith's voracious appetite for the green are picking these guests. I wonder if Keith will start swearing at fans again for throwing bottles at this utter crap they invite on stage with them. It's all about the music man, we do it for the fans. . . sorry, I just violently vomited.

Is anyone else getting the impression that these guest appearances are shaping up to be the material that'll be used for the live album/DVD of this tour?

If so, its a horrendous concept that needs to be strangled at birth.

I had this exact same thought- At this point I can already see the packaging for this as the Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary tour featuring a line up of guest stars including Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen,Lady Ga Ga, Katy Perry, Bonnie Raitt, John Fogerty etc. etc. To me the give away is the fact that I believe almost every star has played on different tunes-it makes it easy to promo all the different songs rather than have 10 different females singing on 10 different versions of Gimmie Shelter.

I can even see the packaging-the monkey climbing the Empire State Building with all the different stars looking up at him from the Observation Deck on the 86th floor with GaGa in one hand and Perry in the other!

I'll be pissed if Bon Jovi shows up and ruins my night. I'm the King of Philadelphia and he can fuck off.

I heard Mariah just bought a condo near Hyde Park.....

Fuck you, Steel Wheels, will ya?  Grin

You know BJ is gonna show up at Hyde Park. He just has too. Are you fucking serious?

I was actually pleasantly suprised by her performance. She did well and seemed to know the song really well to be able to perform it that well.

Same here. Unlike Gwen Stefani she did a very nice job. Mick’ s vocals were also very good, and so was Woody Wink

let's see...

Rolling Stones - UMG

Keith Urban - Capitol Records (part of UMG)
John Fogerty - Capitol Records (part of UMG)
Katy Perry - Capitol Records (part of UMG)
Gwen Stefani - Interscope (part of UMG)
(not forgetting Lady Ga Ga who was a guest in 2012 - Interscope (part of UMG) )

Bonnie Raitt - Redwing Records (part of Sony Entertainment)
Tom Waits - - ANTI (part of Epitaph Records)

Hmmm...think I see a trend developing here. Shouldn't be much trouble getting label clearance for an album of duets.

Horrible idea if it's even being considered. Especially as a live album.  The ultimate 'pandering to the masses' corporate friendly release.

Nice theory but I definitely hope it's not right! Though it would explain why they're changing up the guest songs a lot more than last year...
Have you no fucking shame?

Fuck this.  Let's just start inundating the Stones Twitter and Facebook feed with the MORE MICK TAYLOR business.  This is downright fucked.

Its awful music.  Really bad.  That whole genre of drawing out long notes whether it makes sense or not.  She tries to throw in a few warbles to show soul every now and then.  Terrible stuff.  That "baby, you're a shining star" thing that was hot last year.

They only cool thing about this woman is that she's pissing on her whacked out Christian parents by dressing and acting like she does.  I admire that.  Any time you can piss off a Christian, you are doing god's work.

Mariah Carey did tweet the Stones last year, and I see her on the crappy list. If she shows up in Philly I'll be pissed.

put Mariah in the tongue pit and watch her trying to get that fat ass out of it when show is over

Went OK until that falsetto bollocks in the bridge.

Overall not too bad. And she looked good.

Dont particularly need to hear it again or have it on a live album, though.

Beast of Burden ~ Las Vegas
http://youtu.be/y_3tbBPFhy0

Here's my video of Katy Perry doing Beast of Burden in Las Vegas. I had side stage seats, $85 uppers but I moved down 2 sections. She wasn't bad, and MICK seemed to enjoy her!
