Can't wait for Wednesday!!! I'm still hoping for that Seattle show. I wonder if Mick T. will make appearances during these 18 shows.

I haven't heard anything about Seattle, BUT, I have heard about posters/billboards around Stockton, San Fran, Oakland, and Chicago. I'm hoping they'll come to Cali. Also, does anyone know if any credit card companies have announced possible presales? I know a few usually do when there are big shows like these? So excited!!

you made a grown man cry

Who has the exclusive CC rights w/ ticketmaster/Live Nation??

So I asked around on Facebook regarding CC rights for ticketmaster/LiveNation. A few people said that Citbank gives lots of deals (including presales, yay!) via Livenation. Do you think the tickets will be on sale through Livenation?

AEG are the tour promoter, so probably some deal between themselves, Ticketbastard and whatever corporate sponsors are along for the ride (in the past, that's been Hilfiger, Sprint, Ameriquest and numerous others). AMEX were the preferred credit card pre-sale company used for the November/December shows in the UK and US.

The AEG, Live Nation, TM thing is all very head-scratching.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_Nation_Entertainment

The upshot is rarely good for the ticket buyer!

Indeed. Every tour  fans fall for the promoter/band/TM scamfest and panic-buy the most overpriced tickets - unless you absolutely MUST get the best and most expensive seats in the house, then bide your time. They will try and offload the most overpriced seats immediately (eg the nosebleeds or seats at the back which are priced the same as the floor seats in the first couple of blocks that everyone wants). It's a very cynical and unfair way of selling tickets, but as there's no obligation for the process to be done transparently, there's not much we can do about it apart from exercising a bit of self control.

If there are 18 shows, then that means there will be something like 300-350,000 tickets available. When you consider how high these tickets will be priced, there is no need for the most part to panic. Half of the bloody things will end up on e-bay anyway and with that amount of 'supply' in the market, would-be scalpers will struggle to get face value for anything on upper levels in most markets.

Set yourself a ceiling in terms of prices and types of seats that are acceptable to you and stick to it as much as you can. For the 02 shows I'd heard tickets might be £400 but I assumed that meant 'good' seats down front, so I'd set myself a ceiling of £200 for floor or first level only. When they went on sale, there was nothing on level 1 below £300 and there were even £400 seats available as nosebleeds so I thought 'fuck that' and walked away. I'd no interest in going after that until Taylor and Wyman were added four days before the first show, so I checked e-bay and there were loads of tickets available. I managed to get a pair for around £530 (face value was £400 each) on the first level and sold my spare for £300 (still well below face) so I was happy enough to have got a ticket in a price range I could live with AND to have got the satisfaction that a scalper had lost about £270 on the deal.

I freaking love that story!  I c hope I can make something similar happen myself.

18 shows per continent as opposed to two or three shows per continent should make it a bit easier.

Here's hoping! For me it's either here in Toronto or perhaps NYC or Chicago - anything further away becomes prohibitive with the cost of airfare.

Yep. There are 19 concerts listed there. Only 10 of them don't have alternative dates, cities or 'maybe' added as a proviso.

I've a feeling the guy isn't far off the mark, but by all means everyone should be cautious until they get anything confirmed.

The first Hyde Park date is my only possible option. The following weekend is too close to my Bruce trip and two consecutive weekends flying to London simply isnt practical.

At least if I go to the 6th July show, I can always double up and go see Bon Jovi at the same venue on the night before (they're playing on the 44th anniversary of the Stones' 1969 show).  Grin

Fair point - but the show immediately preceding them was in Las Vegas, so they were still heading back west to finish the tour anyway.

(Actually, that show was only added two months in advance and after the west coast shows were postponed. The original tour finale was meant to be in Oklahoma City 10th April, then they added an additional show in Chicago (12/4), one in Vegas (16/4) and the two rearranged dates in San Jose (19-20/4 - postponed from 29-30/1)

Got a friend who works for a law firm. The partners in the firm are pretty well connected music wise. He just told me the bay area dates are Oakland May 5th and San Jose May 8th. LA before that and Anaheim after.

San Jose on a Wed might work, could do Megabus for $18.

Seeing those billboards in Vegas is neat.
Are the lyrics clues to the set list?

I'm shot.

Monday and the only motivation I have is to make travel plans and get tickeys.

Chicago?
Philly?
Pittsburg?
NYC?
DC?

Can't do 'em all.

Not without selling one of the kidneys.

I just found out I am holding a ticket to a show I don't even care about that's so sold out, there is nothing on Stub Hub or Craigslist. My Stones ticket fund may get a boost.

If the tour starts May 2, 2 shows in LA before May 5 could never happen.

Uhm...April Fools ????

Just sayin'...I see Charlotte, but I can't believe they don't have Raleigh or Chapel Hill on the tour... Grin Grin

offer still there...IF Raleigh party UP...crash at my place...before, during, after...summit...party...grill...whatever...

I was aware of that, but the guy's a regular poster on that site and insisting that this isnt something he'd make up.

I dont know him so I cant comment on if he has good connections or anything but any regular on any board will know that posting deliberately false info like that is seen as pretty bad form and would risk being shitcanned.

Half of that list is stuff we already knew. That's likely an early draft of possible dates.

And Pollstar lists Ke$ha/Pitbull at MGM but it's actually at Mandalay Bay. Booking the Stones could be one possible reason, or the fact that demand may not be what was initially anticipated - you can get up to 8 floor tickets together right now.

Celine Dion is playing Plains Of Abraham July 27th but it was just announced a few days ago. If the Stones play there I wouldn't be surprised if that torpedoes the Toronto date that is listed as maybe.

Been told by e-mail that the guy who posted those dates on shidoobee simply lifted them off a non-Stones message board without crediting his source or the fact that the guy who posted them in the first place (who happens to be a big Stones fan) posted them speculatively based on posts made by fans on various boards and on checking the availability of the venues in question.

The original poster never claimed they were the actual concert dates.

That's hilarious! He didn't do a good job of collecting rumors since the most prevalent one has been Vancouver May 2, which I have alternately seen listed as May 18 - which makes me wonder if the tour has been pushed back a few weeks.

Fair point - but the show immediately preceding them was in Las Vegas, so they were still heading back west to finish the tour anyway.

(Actually, that show was only added two months in advance and after the west coast shows were postponed. The original tour finale was meant to be in Oklahoma City 10th April, then they added an additional show in Chicago (12/4), one in Vegas (16/4) and the two rearranged dates in San Jose (19-20/4 - postponed from 29-30/1)

damn, that is confusing… what is amazing is, you remember all that, you replied too fast to even try to research it, you just recalled it...

I hope those dates happen.

Seems odd that they would start out west. Go east, then comeback west to finish.

They did exactly that on the No Security tour in 1999.

Started in Oakland and Sacramento and finished in San Jose.

if I remember correctly, San Jo was postponed, don't know why, and they ended with what was to be the start...
