MOVIE MOGUL BRIAN GLAZER LOVES HAVING MICK JAGGER AS A PARTNER ON JAMES BROWN BIOPIC

Movie mogul BRIAN GLAZER is hoping his long-awaited JAMES BROWN biopic will help him form a long-lasting production partnership with SIR MICK JAGGER, because he loves working with the ROLLING STONES star.

...

Glazer secured a deal to make Brown's story before the soul legend died in 2006, pumped millions into the project and then lost the rights - but now the film is back on TRACK and he and Jagger are splitting the costs.

As the producer begins the process of casting the movie after choosing The Help's Tate Taylor as his director, Grazer admits he Is really enjoying Jagger's company.

He tells RollingStone.com, "Mick had a relationship with James Brown and studied him as an artist. He has strong opinions, but he's gentle. He's not like, 'I don't like it.' He would just say, 'Let's rethink it,' or, 'Let's not decide right now'. But which (means), 'I don't like that'.

"I think Mick is so amazing. For him to decide he's going to participate and split half the money - he's a man of integrity, and I feel pretty good about that."

Grazer assures Brown's fans that the Godfather of Soul's biopic is in good hands: "I'd meet with him (Brown) periodically. I loved him. I think he liked me.

"They (real-life movie subjects) have to believe in you, and they have to believe that what you will portray is something they'd be proud of. He wanted to work with someone who understood how he impacted music at the time and on the planet and saw him as a person who wasn't political but had a political impact.

"He recognised he had hard times. But I think he wanted someone who recognised and celebrated his accomplishments."

Great article, Mick when he first came to America was fascinated with Black culture & black front men (& Tina Turner) I still play the TAMI show for how young & innocent The Stones & Mick was.
