Damn - I see he was due to play Hartford on the tour that was due to start the day after he died (scheduled for 21st August).

The UK never actually got 'Aloha From Hawaii' until 1978 - after Elvis had died.

Even in the US, I think I'm right in saying that it wasnt shown until April 1973 - three months after the concert.

It was primarily aimed at the Asian market - which probably accounts for why the gig took place at 12.30 am local time. Most of Europe got it the following evening.

I always liked the stripped-down 'post show' performances that he did of five songs which were shown on the CBS broadcast but which weren't included on the album. Especially the gorgeous version of 'Early Morning Rain'.

To each his own, for me Stones are King.

But I WILL easily go to a Elvis board and say the Stones are better, always love a good Stones fight, because I'm used to victory.
