Taylor to play in Newark - confirmed

The promoter has confirmed that the reason for the cancellation (the show had been rescheduled from November 24th due to 'illness') is that Mick will be going on tour with the Stones.

So, it appears the stories were true and that he'll perform at the Brooklyn and Newark concerts.

Excellent. Here's hoping they feature him on some besides/in place of "Midnight Rambler". "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" is an obvious pick (I'm assuming Bobby will be in attendence), but naturally we'd all have our own personal picks.
"Winter" and "Time Waits For No One" they'll never do. But "Stop Breaking Down" would be really easy on short notice, and "Dance Little Sister" would be really exciting (ya see, they've got this drummer...).

I don't think anything Stones related has ever made me happier even my first show. Increase the songs and hopefully he'll bring his playing to songs recorded after he left. Yeah, well if Wyman were to hop a boat and make the NY/NJ gigs, he oughta be featured on something other than "It's Only Rock n' Roll" (which he didn't record) or "Honky Tonk Woman" (which originally only had bass on the chorus', which is how how wish they'd play it).

Put him on "Hand of Fate" (those bass crawls are so sinister), or "Summer Romance" (yup, that's him not Woody) or "19th Nervous Breakdown" (zoooooooom-blblblblbum!)

I said this elsewhere, but this is looking to be one of the biggest pay per views in rock and roll history, and I'm sure there's to be a blu ray/dvd of this released at some point to celebrate the 50th. Bill can get over his fear of flying to be part of it. He has nothing else to do.

And to the 11 people in Spain, don't worry - Mick Taylor he'll be back. He too has nothing else to do.

I would have thought this mystery would have been cleared up by now.

I was always under the impression that there were several people with some real/tenuous connections to either the Stones camp or the MT camp...

Nothing confirmed yet, Paul.

The only thing that seems confirmed is the cancellation by the promoter of his show in Spain on Saturday (apparently because he'll be 'on tour with the Stones') as you can see in this thread and the Brooklyn show one.

It seems likely he'll play but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.
