A spiritless and irrelevant piece of crap, makes Mixed Emotions look like a worldbeater.

Sounds like a Keith album reject, but so what?

Kiss my undercover ass

This is too good an ass for these preoccupied Grandpas to kiss.  Careless Ethiopians, dumb shits.

PS: The Who (Townsend-Daltrey) would be more ambitious with new material - and more generous, because they'd plan on playing it live.  The Stones just want one new song from a recycled hits collection to play live, as with Don't Stop, and won't break formula and make an album they would need to live up to.  Another 4-DVD live set will follow in 2013, because that's the other component of the formula, and is why Branson's involved.  Get the gout, lazy sods!  "Performers," not artists.

Sorry - this is my "Judas!" cry.

Life isn't fair, right?

Don't suck my cock

I don't like that new song. Honestly. (It's not bad, but I don't want to listen to it. Maybe if I'm jumping off from a hot balloon. I always wanted to climb up to one of those things) But give those people a break. They are ald, rich and not even a band anymore, more like an oldies act. It had to happen.

I changed my mind on this totally, when you got a song that sounds like other songs you're in trouble, I never thought The Stones would do this, have a song that sounds so close to another song, when they play it live everybody will think it's "Street Fighting Man" along with "Mixed Emotions"  I liked Doom & Gloom though.

I know Keith wrote it - Mick was too lazy to improve on his Keith-solo-style lyrics - but I thought I read that the opening riff is played by Mick.  It sounds like it.

The opening riff / very starting guitar part of Gloom and Doom is Mick on guitar...surprisingly.  Keith notes that while it may be Mick he could of never played it like that if Keith would not of taught him how to.

This guitar...opening riff in One Last Shot is very much Keith... that is plainly telling... (as well Chuck Levelle stated it as such.). There's only one guy that plays like that and his name is Keith Richards... not to discredit your info but if it was Mick playing that part I would be perplexed as all get-out and would have no real concept of who was playing what all along in their back catalog.

OK, thanks for clarifying.  But I'm as underwhelmed by Keith's intro riff as I am by the rest of the song.

Yah... was just clarifyin things for some of us is all. Bill Perks is correct... it is definitely a spin-off of Keith live SFM intro ...in-fact... it's too similar to it. It is 65% Keith's Live SFM intro and 45% Keith's solo "Take it So Hard" intro. Nothing new and exciting at all...just re-hash.

Maybe they just needed to get their groove back a bit and they are gonna work on something fresher, unique, and progressive while still being Stonesy next time they record together...?

Sure...the last hope I give there may be a long shot... but what the heck...only time will tell ....

Yah ... it is not anything even 1% new or fresh ...in-fact it's just what you said... a recycle version of Keith live SFM intro... well that and about 45% the intro to "Take it So Hard".

That is all it is...nothing more at all. I mean...it's pretty cool and all but it's nothing new or fresh and Take It So Hard was a better song over-all. In fact, I think most would agree to that.

It's ok... but the song has a Bruce Springsteen feel... I never thought The Stones would stab at that...

Gazza should be in complete ecstasy... he got a new Stones song that try's to be Bruce Springsteen a bit in feel ... Smiley

I had this song in my head for the next few hours after I heard it.

Now? I can't remember a note of it.

Sad, sad, sad. Things like Don't Stop and Rough Justice had much more of a lasting effect on me. (Let it be known that I truly love both of those songs.) I will say that I was all right with Doom and Gloom... a few more listens, and it might be a new classic. But this one? A resounding MEH.

I listened to One More Shot about 6 times now. THANKS for the link VOO! I knew I would find it here! SO, it seems like it is getting mixed reviews. The excitement level is low, the tune doesnt move me up or down, it just kinda stays steady and then its over so I wont be creaming in my jeans over this! I'm not saying I dont like it, but I find it a bit dull.
Foreplay for the more exciting songs.  Grin

Cereal-ly...
It's a Romulus (or a Romulan, for that matter) to Michael's Re(a)mus; a once to his gloom; a put-me-in-correction to his libellously-tidsy erection; a burden to his beast; a riff to his maracas.
It's all pretty saucy and groovy, to my mind.
