And principled! Riffy abhored being inconsistent. He never wavered on that. I've never seen anyone who was so consistent in his views, as Riffhard.

And knowledgeable! Riffy always read up on everything before he talked about it. He always knew precisely what the fuck he was talking about, having read everything before he posted. Pre-handedness.

Ultimately, he was a fair minded guy. Even handed, never a hypocrite, never biased. He was the best. Better than all of them guys.

Riffhard likes Bob Dylan and knows (acknowledged) that Robert Duvall is one of the best actors alive. Also he seems to have a nice sense of humor. I used to write, here, that Bush jr. was the worst human being alive, and he told me (he wrote, in response) that it was the stupidest thing ever written. Of course he's right. (!?) Nothing is ever black or white.

One has to be always, like Jagger sang, "sitting on the fence". I never meant that (Bush jr. remark) seriously. I've known even more idiotic people.

There is, in fact, a government program that will provide low-income people with a free or low cost cell phone.
It was started in 2008 under George W. Bush. The idea (crazy, I know) was that maybe poor people wouldn't
die so much if they could dial 911.

The idea of providing low-income individuals with subsidized phone service was originated in the Reagan
administration following the break-up of AT&T in 1984. (It was expanded and formalized by the
Telecommunications Act of 1996.) Obama's only connection to the program was to overhaul it early
this year to eliminate waste and fraud. That and the fact that fly-by-night companies use his name.

The free phones come from the phone companies themselves, and they'll give them to anyone. Even
vulture capitalists and online bloviators are eligible. The shitty little flip-phone I use was free. When it
finally dies, they'll give me a new one. It's called MARKETING.

None of this stuff is paid for by taxpayers. It's paid for out of the Universal Service Fund, which the feds
levy on telecommunication companies. Of course, THEY might pass the cost along to you, but that ain't
Obama. It's the free market. WHY do you hate the free market, Edith? WHY??
