That was clever

From Virgin site

Also partnering with Dainty Group is global production company Endemol who will co-manage the international digital rights to the Rolling Stones “50 and Counting” shows.

Tim Hincks, President of Endemol Group said: "We are extremely proud to be partnering with the world’s greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll band and with the Dainty Group.  "50 and Counting" is set to be a phenomenal global celebration of the Rolling Stones and we’ll soon be announcing further plans to make it an interactive experience for fans like no other."

This partnership between Endemol and Dainty Group will see the final Stones show, staged at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on December 15, telecast live via pay-per-view at 9pm ET.  The pay-per-view entitled “One More Shot” will be distributed by WWE, the world’s pre-eminent provider of pay-per-view programming. Further details of the partnership will be revealed shortly.

WWE Chairman/CEO Vince McMahon said: "WWE is ecstatic to bring The Rolling Stones into your living room, live on Pay-Per-View for "One More Shot," the last date of their 50th anniversary shows."

One More Shot must be a great tune!

I'm hitting the treadmill later. I reckon if I can do it for 16 hours a day, 7 days a week for the next six weeks and allow the other eight hours in the day for the wounds from my upcoming head transplant to heal, I may JUST have a chance.

This is SO weird.

On the one hand, I'm so thrilled they're back. The video. The teasing you-knew-this-was-coming vibe. Their mugs. The Charlie finale. Damn.

On the other hand.... 406 POUNDS???????? Living in the Stones Universe must be exciting, no financial crisis, no problems with the economy and charging almost an entire month's salary for a two and a half hour show. JESUS. Why?

If it had been any month in 2013 iwould've tried to get tickets for London. But I'll be getting a son any day now so I don't  see myself boarding a plane to The UK anytime soon. Or do you think the old ball and chain will understand a shifting if my priorities?  Wink

Well at these prices I don't know.....I may try the Amex route for the Newark Dec 15th.....I'll be 60 years old at midnight the 16th so this may be it......course I have to survive looking at my credit card bills first. $753 and then $59.50 to Ticketbastard?......if they have to print and mail the tickets thne it really costs as much for the cheapest as it does the most expensive but they take a % of course to screw us. But this is the Stones doing the screw job and I am torn as to whether I play along one more time

£95 and £166 tickets for the 02 are my limit.

I fully expect those to be mysteriously 'unavailable' once they go on sale until enough mugs have been conned into panic buying £400 nosebleeds.

To get some perspective - something the Stones dont have - £400 is around the average week's salary in the UK. And that's one of the wealthier countries in Europe.

£150 was more than expensive enough last time - and those were for very good seats. Paying more than that to see a band whose musical chops have been untested for five years at this stage of their lives simply isn't an option.

If I cant get anything for £166, I'll have absolutely no qualms about passing. In fact it'll be somewhat cathartic to be able to do so.

There will almost certainly be a tour in 2013. I think these prices are so exorbitant because its just four shows in two continents and when theyre selling 80,000 tickets they can get away with it a lot easier than they can if theyre trying to sell 3 or 4 million tickets.

I'd expect the shows next year to be relatively-speaking a bit more affordable.

Good option. I'd imagine that there'll be somewhat less demand for the second night as its being broadcast.

And you'll get them looser on the 13th!

Anyone else think its funny that Vince McMahon the wrestling con man is putting on the PPV? And if it goes as stated thats live with no net on the 15th? Will Blondie be hidden somewhere around the stage like a wrestler who jumps into the ring when its time for a farce?

Knowing I can sit at home and watch it live on the 15th takes a lot of pressure off.
I'm going to give the 15th my best shot with $250.00 being the highest I'll go.

I'VE WAITED SO LONG FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!! WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!
