I would be so thankful if the Stones, in recognition of their 50th year together, charged 50 bucks a seat. I have a greater chance of becoming a backup singer for the Stones than for tickets to be so cheap!
I've heard £450 mentioned for the 02 shows. That's $725 to save you looking it up - the equivalent of the average week's salary in the UK.
Most 02 tickets in 2007 were £150. The most expensive tickets ever for a rock show in the UK and if true, would be a 300% price hike in five years.
Considering the fact that US top prices were $450 last time, that's a frightening scenario for London, and even more so for you.
I honestly cant imagine £450 as the standard price for these London shows. Even though its the only shows in Europe, I cant believe they'd get thousands of people willing to pay that. Especially in a time frame of six weeks.
Its also a helluva risk as you can imagine a lot of fans would think twice (especially coming up to Christmas in a recession) about paying it as there's more doubts about whether they're able to deliver a show to justify that, based on their age, health and inactivity.
My guess is that the more expensive tickets will be utterly horrifically expensive (Fan Asylum prices - four figures), but they'll maybe offer a % of tickets in the price range that they did before. Except that this time they'll be nosebleeds instead of in Block A!
