'Gloom & Doom' is, presumably, a jaunty ditty, with lovely tiddly bits soemwhat building on 'Mixed Emotions' ('Mick's E-Motions') and 'It Must Be Hell' and so on, and even 'Beast Of Burden' ('(I'll Never Be Your) Beef Curtains') and other elements befitting of, and playing with and counteracting, the curent time and groove and so on. I have trust in The Stains to root-me-rotten-and-ragged with a poignant, bottom-jigging, hoot-inducing and even transluscent single.

If the advance descriptions of the lyrical content of the song are accurate, can I be the first to express my disdain at the absurd notion of 70 year old men going out on the town dancing to anything faster than a waltz.
