'Gloom & Doom' is, presumably, a jaunty ditty, with lovely tiddly bits soemwhat building on 'Mixed Emotions' ('Mick's E-Motions') and 'It Must Be Hell' and so on, and even 'Beast Of Burden' ('(I'll Never Be Your) Beef Curtains') and other elements befitting of, and playing with and counteracting, the curent time and groove and so on. I have trust in The Stains to root-me-rotten-and-ragged with a poignant, bottom-jigging, hoot-inducing and even transluscent single.

I'm kinda looking forward to G&D. Mick can be funny when he waxes political At the very least, he's more clever than when he sings about, say, beauties, cuties, and jello moons.

Rolling Stone magazine said that One Last Shot was the guitar driven song. Very interesting. Why didn't your friend let you hear the song over the phone?

Itīs because it was only his boss that got the file, and my friend and co-workers  had to listen to it in his office. I asked about the guitars, and my friend said the song was "guitar driven", he didīnt say if it was a rocker or not.

Thread title modified to give the song its correct title.

I love how after seven years the Stones release two new songs and there's mass confusion over what BOTH of them are actually called.  Grin

Something very special ? Unlikely really given their "recent" output, what would you consider the last "very special" song they put out and why? Then I'll give you mine Wink

If the advance descriptions of the lyrical content of the song are accurate, can I be the first to express my disdain at the absurd notion of 70 year old men going out on the town dancing to anything faster than a waltz.
