inShareLONDON--(Marketwire - Sep 20, 2012)
- The Rolling Stones, ABKCO Music, Universal Music and Aurasma have launched an innovative, interactive fan incentive for their upcoming live shows in Brooklyn and London with 3D Augmented Reality technology and fun Cracker Jack prizes.
Fans attending any of the upcoming shows at Brooklyn's Barclay Center or London's 02 Arena will be able to purchase Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary commemorative Cracker Jack boxes. Each box will contain a special prize that will contain a bar code that fans can then scan with their iPhones using a new uView app that fans can now begin downloading via the Rolling Stones official Facebook page. If the bar code they enter matches the evenings winning bar code that fan will then be able to enter a song title via the bands Twitter account. If that song title matches that nights GRRR! song of the evening that fan will receive a discount coupon that will automatically be downloaded to their email account during the show so that they will be able to redeem the coupon that evening for up to 20% off selected 50th Anniversary merchandise at the venues merch table. In what is a ground breaking interactive event, over hundreds of fans could be Cracker Jack winners at each show for valuable merchandise discounts. This is the first multi-media live fan interactive campaign ever launched and the Rolling Stones, in partnership with Cracker Jack, Virgin Records, ABCKO, Apple and Viacom are being heralded as groundbreaking visionaries. Making this the biggest global Augmented Reality music campaign to date.
GRRR! by The Rolling Stones is released 13 November
www.rollingstones.com http://www.facebook.com/therollingstones www.twitter.com/rollingstones the description of the procedure seems needlessly complicated, especially to end up with a 20% discount on merch, can't imagine many doing it
have to echo the sentiments of the partnership with crackerjack, seems strange
though i think the uView app and landmarks could be cool, depends if many people do it
tracklisting for GRRR looks decent if predictable, don't think i'll be purchasing it but i enjoy the cover so if i see it for cheap someday i might; pity there weren't even a few other previously unreleased songs tacked on but hopefully the two new tracks suffice
