Dylan is on the cover of the latest Rolling Stone. On page 18 is a short article on the two new songs.  Doom and Gloom is a political rocker written by Jagger.  One More Shot is described as having Keith's signature open-G slashing riffs. "One more shot, that's all I got" is the lyric they mention.

Thanks! That helps but I want more. Can I get a little teaser or something? Hook a brother up. C'mon guys let's do it! Bust a move.

No fans would have heard ABB more than six weeks before it came out.

The album's details and track listing were only confirmed on a press release on Mick's birthday - 26th July 2005.  The album was released on September 5th.

Media listening parties started a couple of weeks later - Voodoo's was on August 10th
http://www.rocksoff.org/Archives/08-16-2005/214104-4.html

I got a lo-fi copy from him about 3 days later and reviewed it on RO on 18th August
http://www.rocksoff.org/Archives/08-28-2005/214626-1.html

Its funny reading some of the posts from that month in the archives. Not quite as funny as me giving 'Streets of Love' 6 out of 10, though.

Well then, a "month" before it came out Voodoo and you got ahold of it (and apparently...so did he..or some how he also heard it). I remember talking to you about it to a point...but not that much. I remember you saying how much you simply loved "Laugh I Nearly Died"... I just thought it was well after I heard BV talking about it.  BV may of got a copy of it as well about a month or so before but he posted his info on it almost immediately after hearing it where as you waited a good week (which was fine). This is why I remember he was the first one to let some cats out of the bag about it. You waited a solid week or more (again...smart move because sometimes a few to several listens are required before you can begin to make an accurate judgement... still I gotta say... ABB was one of those albums you really were diggin even after one spin. It was quite an exciting album.  Many overloook that fact today. It rocked man... it was in your face... it had definite balls! ...and they delivered great again.. Many forget about all that and sell it short. Listen to it today.... nothin sounds as good as that out there yet.

Chuck Levell says it is about a girl in which all she does is complain and talk about gloom and doom type of jazz. Jagger wants to just go out and have fun and dance with her yet shes all doom and gloom all day.

So...who knows? Possibly, in a sense it could somehow be taken either way?? Still not certain how though?

So, no official announcement yet.. nothing of new, official, confirmed.. or .. millions will be disappointed.
In despite of the - seems- high tickets prices and whenever will are the future, maybe venues.. many of them will join this theorically tour of the next year..
Like the Stones of course, but I will dont go and spend money I dont got anyway.
Luckily I got of them a lot of good memories about theirs past live tours.
I cant ever afford such things on this scale. Good luck to all they who wanna still see them.
E.i.: Gazza at 02? Rob from Australia? Mr Billen from US? Ect ect .. Smiley Glad for you guys

Theres a lot of 'if's and 'maybe''s regarding that, Lina.

Usually when the Stones play Europe, there's about 1.5 million tickets available.

This time there'll be less than 40,000.

And you can bet that several thousand of those - and especially the best tickets at that - will never go on sale to the general public on a conventional ticket sale.

Then there's the question of how much they're going to cost.

I'd like to go to one gig if the shows are affordable, but whether they will be and whether I'd be able to get tickets even if I wanted to might be another matter.

It's not the end of the world if I don't get to go - there'll almost certainly be a tour next year, anyway.

I know, mine was a  sort to say.. but or the end of the year or in the next.. mine last concert was that of Bruce, so I'd took. I'd saw him in a wheel chair, so my health situation was and still is.
But Bruce was really worth.  In the years I'm came fed up with the Stones in certainly way.  It has to pass tilme before to enjoy them again in some albums or some songs. My priority today is another.  Surely the tickets will be so few and dont affordable.. just for some lucky person.  But I hope you and the others here will see them the next year.... and no, I didnt liked so much ABB.. No. for me other theirs albums had rocks mr  Billen.  Good debate guys Wink

I'm going to say something positive: This is a much better compilation than Forty Licks.

Hopefully the more room over the extra discs will mean less need to edit songs.

I did a quick comparison between the 2-CD, 3-CD, 4-CD versions of this and 40 Licks and it seems that each album has the same 50/50 split between ABKCO and post-ABKCO (in this case, UMG) songs. And in each case, theyve used the same two songs which were released on Sticky Fingers but published by ABKCO (Brown Sugar and Wild Horses) and which regularly appear on compilation by both companies. Clearly there must be some agreement in place to accommodate both labels.

40 Licks had 19 ABKCO songs and 19 post-ABKCO, plus the two songs mentioned above

Its the same breakdown for the 2-disc, 40 song version of "Grrr!"

The 3-Cd version has 24 of each plus Brown Sugar/Wild Horses. The 4-CD version has 39 of each plus those two songs - which might explain why there seems to be a lot of 'deep cuts' from the 1965-66 era as opposed to later years.

For some reason, "Happy" appears to be the only track which appears on the 3-CD version of Grrr! but which then doesnt appear on the 4-CD version.

Of the songs on 40 Licks, 37 of them (ie, all the 'old' songs plus 'Dont Stop') are available on Grrr! Of those 37, 33 of them are duplicated on the 3-CD version (the exceptions are Shattered, Dont Stop, Mothers Little Helper and You Got Me Rocking). 36 of the 37 ('Happy' being the exception) appear on the 4-CD version.

30 songs are replicated between 40 Licks and the 2-CD version of 'Grrr!'.  The songs on the new 2-CD release which werent on 40 Licks are Come On, Little Red Rooster, As Tears Go By, Hot Stuff, Respectable, Harlem Shuffle and the four songs which hadnt been released by the time 40 Licks came out - Streets of Love, Plundered My Soul, Gloom and Doom, One Last Shot.

Ahh..I think I get it now...it's part of the new competition on the official site

http://www.rollingstones.com/GRRR-home/

To celebrate the announcement of GRRR! and reveal the striking album sleeve, painted by award-winning American artist Walton Ford, the Rolling Stones and Universal Music have launched an exciting global campaign which you can be part of.

To get involved you need to download the free uView app, for either iOS or Android. Once downloaded, use it to find your nearest tagged location, there are over 3000 locations worldwide, in 50 cities. Then scan the landmark or building with the camera as shown, let it load and watch as the cover image comes to life.

If you’re not able to get to any of the locations simply scan any Tongue & Lips logo (on a t-shirt, album sleeve or online) or the GRRR! cover art, and you will still see the 3D animations.

Click here for more detailed instructions  - http://www.rollingstones.com/grrr-howto/

The band have also launched an exclusive GRRR! competition for fans to take part in.

To enter, you must take photos of the animations in action by pressing the camera button or taking a screenshot. Submit your entries either by Twitter, tweet them to @RollingStones and include the hashtag #GRRR!, or email the photos to [email protected].

The best 50 photos will be chosen to win some great prizes including two very special prizes!

The Rolling Stones launch world's biggest AR campaign for Grrr! greatest hits album
To celebrate the forthcoming release of Grrr!, the Rolling Stones' 50th anniversary greatest hits album, the band, ABKCO Music and Universal Music have teamed with augmented reality specialist Aurasma to create the world's biggest music AR campaign to date.

From today (20 September), fans can use their smartphones to watch the cover star of the collection, a mighty King Kong-style gorilla, visit famous landmarks around the globe. No less that 50 cities (one for each year the band have been around) and over 3,000 locations are involved, including the Houses of Parliament in London, the Skytree in Tokyo, Sydney Opera House and, of course, the Empire State Building in New York.

Pocket-lint has been told that if, using free application uView, you point your iPhone or   Android device at one of the tagged buildings, a virtual 3D animated gorilla will appear. The app will then give you the opportunity to pre-order Grrr!, which will be available from 12 November.

We have also been sent a tagged picture of the clock tower at the Houses of Parliament, so you can try the application out in the comfort of your own home.

A competition to win "fantastic prizes" - including two "very special prizes" - has also opened today. Fans are encouraged to take pictures of the Gorilla animations in action around the world and share them via Twitter, including the hashtag #GRRR!, or send them to [email protected] via email. They will be posted onto an interactive photo wall on the bands official website and the top 50 will walk away with the swag.

"The album reveal created a real buzz on social media," said Deborah Hyacinth, vice president of Digital Marketing at Universal Music Group. "The 50 cities stage adds another level of interaction to this global campaign, giving fans that little bit extra to mark such a fantastic lifetime achievement. This pioneering use of mobile technology extends The Rolling Stones’ reputation for innovation and imagination."

You can get the uView application for iOS and Android for free on their respective ape stores... Geddit? Ape. Gorilla. Eh? Oh, please yourselves.

Again, its a lot of pointless work for fans to do with little reward.

What idiot is going to actually bother to do download this and go thru this nonsense just to see a cartoon ape with his arm around the statue of liberty???

best part is they paid some marketing firm a ton of the $$$$$$ we gave them on the last tour to come up with this stupid game
