So, no official announcement yet.. nothing of new, official, confirmed.. or .. millions will be disappointed.
In despite of the - seems- high tickets prices and whenever will are the future, maybe venues.. many of them will join this theorically tour of the next year..
Like the Stones of course, but I will dont go and spend money I dont got anyway.
Luckily I got of them a lot of good memories about theirs past live tours.
I cant ever afford such things on this scale. Good luck to all they who wanna still see them.
E.i.: Gazza at 02? Rob from Australia? Mr Billen from US? Ect ect .. Smiley Glad for you guys

Theres a lot of 'if's and 'maybe''s regarding that, Lina.

Usually when the Stones play Europe, there's about 1.5 million tickets available.

This time there'll be less than 40,000.

And you can bet that several thousand of those - and especially the best tickets at that - will never go on sale to the general public on a conventional ticket sale.

Then there's the question of how much they're going to cost.

I'd like to go to one gig if the shows are affordable, but whether they will be and whether I'd be able to get tickets even if I wanted to might be another matter.

It's not the end of the world if I don't get to go - there'll almost certainly be a tour next year, anyway.

"BV" from iorr always hears their material first while Gazza's inside track seems to know of their plans and schedule. BV however, always hears their stuff waaaaaayyyy early.

Ian

He does? Since when???

Wouldnt say there's much info coming out about their schedule at the minute, to be honest.

I dunno... the other posters "act" as if he is sometimes the one in the know over there. As well, I thought he heard ABB eight weeks before it came out. He described some of the songs that were on there as a confirmation... and there was not yet any reviews in magazines or anything like that to go on. I believe it was "BV"? ... I know it came from iorr (I am certain it wasn't the two people who spoke to Don Was coming out of the studio in which he played "She Saw Me Coming" for them.)

As far as their schedule... thought maybe you had some new info. since you seem to have a nice scoop on that side of things.

He didnt. There was one guy who was allowed to hear 'She Saw Me Coming' from Don Was' car just after theyd mixed it in LA. Cant remember who it was - skipstone, maybe?

BV (Bjornulf) is the site owner. He lives in Norway and I've known him for decades. He's a fan who has to pay for his tickets and buy his cds like everyone else. If he's describing songs way in advance of any press parties etc, its probably based on official press releases, not on some leak from within the Stones' organisation. He would have good media contacts, however - and I'd imagine that would include official press releases from the Stones organisation. A lot of the 'breaking news' stuff on IORR now does seem to come via fans' posts on the forum, though as opposed to directly on the news page.

I havent heard anything updates about announcements for upcoming shows, although there may be more rehearsals coming up soon. Signs DO seem very positive for a tour in 2013, though.

*I noted in my post that I was very familiar with the Don Was / She Saw Me Comin CD in the car incident while Don Was left the studio and I recall it well. As I noted in my post, this situation is not what I am talking about, and it is certainly not what led me to some-how confuse this occurrence with BV.

Yeah... I knew BV owned/ran iorr and yes, thanks for reminding me of his real name (I forgot it but knew it was somethin like this).

Actually as I recall... he heard ABB well before everyone and noted it's production style and in his words "it was the best disc since Some Girls".  I had a log-in over there at the time and he answered my questions about it. He also mentioned "It Won't Take Long" and "Rain Fall Down" well before (six weeks or more) they were posted on The Stones website so we could play them. There were rumors of a song with "Rain" in the title and he noted the song was "Rain Fell Down" (close) and described it. He never gave much info about it. Now on these songs everyone is asking BV about what they are like.

I am not sure he has an inside source now still or what. Very possibly, it was a one time thing in which someone let him hear it (as many times these sources turn out to be ... a one time inside shot from someone who a person may of lost contact with or the source in question may of lost their way to the stuff as well).

I never thought BV got free tickets or back-stage passes or anything like all that. Wasn't trying to say it was anything like all that...it was more that he had a special acquaintance at the time who let him hear some stuff he happen to have access to and who also knew some of their doings that were not public from time to time was all. Ask him about it if you still have the opportunity. I am almost sure it was him ...just not 100%. One thing I am 100% sure of... I had the convo, and it indeed occurred over there back then (before any reviews... before any news bits or articles). It was like early July...two full months before  it came out. A few weeks after the conversation we started getting more tid-bits on the album. My impression was that he heard like 10 songs...rough cut's... not any sort of finished product because at that point the album was probably just finished being mixed or was in the mastering phase.

Ask him about it if you get the chance.

Ian

No fans would have heard ABB more than six weeks before it came out.

The album's details and track listing were only confirmed on a press release on Mick's birthday - 26th July 2005.  The album was released on September 5th.

Media listening parties started a couple of weeks later - Voodoo's was on August 10th
http://www.rocksoff.org/Archives/08-16-2005/214104-4.html

I got a lo-fi copy from him about 3 days later and reviewed it on RO on 18th August
http://www.rocksoff.org/Archives/08-28-2005/214626-1.html

Its funny reading some of the posts from that month in the archives. Not quite as funny as me giving 'Streets of Love' 6 out of 10, though.

Dylan is on the cover of the latest Rolling Stone. On page 18 is a short article on the two new songs.  Doom and Gloom is a political rocker written by Jagger.  One More Shot is described as having Keith's signature open-G slashing riffs. "One more shot, that's all I got" is the lyric they mention.

If the Stones wanted to be all cutting edge, they would have a web site posted where the user could select from a list of songs
& make their own GRRR.  Have a list of 12 or more never heard songs so the purchaser would receive a unreleased track for every 8 or 10 warhorse songs of their choice they have purchased.   Make your choices, pay your dough, click & save & the download is yours.  I'm sure the technology exists.  But, alas, we get this.

So it appears that you only need to buy the 40-track, 2-CD version to get the new songs.

Unless they allow you to buy them as separate tracks on i-tunes of course.
