ceremony and denied reports they would play two shows at London's O2 Arena this
November. But in an interview with Q magazine, Richards let slip that they had booked
a run of shows in both the UK and the US – although he didn't reveal when the dates
would take place.

He said: We've got some shows in London, I believe, and in New York, but I really can't
talk about any of that at the moment. They've put the gag on me on this. You can hint!
Richards also said the band's rehearsals were going from strength to strength, adding:
"Everybody relies upon their instincts, especially once you start working regularly together
again. Because it pulls all the bits and pieces together, which when you're not working and
playing with the guys, dissipates, obviously; you're not having that immediate contact.

"But kind of two days of hanging around with the guys again, a certain demon energy takes
over and you wonder where it's coming from!"

The Rolling Stones will release a brand new Greatest Hits compilation in November titled 'GRRR!’.
The collection, which is being released to coincide with the band's 50th anniversary, will feature
two brand new songs, 'Gloom And Doom' and 'One Last Shot', which were recorded in Paris last
month. This is the first new material the band have recorded since their 2005 album 'A Bigger Bang'.

I've been offline for a week and am still catching up but to the best of my knowledge (and I've heard nothing to contradict what I was told in advance) they should be in Paris rehearsing as of last week.

Have heard no concrete developments re: the upcoming shows but Keith's quote confirming they'll take place should be good enough for everyone.

I'll repeat again that I do not expect the Stones to play Australia/Japan in 2012 as has been speculated here. I think the only shows this year will be the 2 in London in late November, the 2 in NYC/NJ in December and maybe a small warm up show or two in the next few weeks in Paris and/or London. If those take place, I don't expect them to be 'public' gigs.

The Rolling Stones' look set to play two shows in London in November, according to the band's long-time saxophonist.

Earlier this week, (October 8) guitarist Keith Richards revealed that the band have been booked to play live shows in London and New York, although he didn't reveal when the dates would take place.

Now the band's sax player Bobby Keys has said that the shows will take place in November, as previously denied by the band. "[The Rolling Stones are] gonna do some more concerts, starting in November with two in England and then a couple here in the States, then there's a few added concerts after that," Keys told Billboard.

"Keith told me a couple months ago there was something in the wind and just be ready to go. I'm waiting for them to send me the plane ticket and the information, and then I'll go," he said.

Music industry website Record Of The Day reports that it is rumoured that the dates will be 25 and 29 November, but this has not been confirmed.

When asked if the shows will mark the last live performances from the band, Keys added: "The reality is this train is going to pull into the last station pretty soon - I don't know how soon. I've been saying this since 1980!" he said. "But I feel like it's kind of winding down. This may be sort of the 'Sayonara, see you later, had a good time, keep in touch.' I don't know that for sure. I haven't officially been told anything...I just take my cue primarily from what Keith says, so we'll have to see."

Bobby really doesn't seem to know much...like Keith! Can't help but remember what Bill German wrote in his book where he says that Jagger completely ignored Bobby on the 1989 tour and all these stories about the Mick and the Keith camp.

If the Paris concert doesn't happen, or tickets are impossible to get, I'm definitely on the last train to the Big Smoke (yes I had to look it up !).

Any "noise" on where they are rehearsing (apparently without Bobby) ? Mick's mansion most likely ?

heard Paris, but not 100% sure.

Its not really Bobby's job to know anything other than the fact he's being hired - and last I heard even the back up musicians for these shows (apart from Chuck, Darryl and Bobby) werent exactly a sure bet.

Those London dates are almost certainly correct as theyre the same dates that have been whispered for a few weeks now - there does seem to be more confusion over where and when they'll play the two US shows, but I'd expect that to be confirmed very soon.

With the movie premiere next week, surely they'll all be confirmed around then? Hopefully.

These arent tour shows as such, but 'special event' type gigs to mark the band's 50th anniversary, so I'd expect special guests etc.

What gives it added spice is the fact that Mick Taylor has a London gig scheduled for 30th November - 24 hours after the date that the Stones are likely to play their second 02 show.

The Glastonbury boss is closer than ever to locking down the the ROLLING STONES to headline the 2013 edition of his festival.

Yesterday MICK JAGGER, RONNIE WOOD, KEITH RICHARDS and CHARLIE WATTS released their best track in years, Doom And Gloom, and now it looks likely they could play it on the Pyramid Stage next June alongside some of their classics.

It would be the first time frontman Mick has ever pulled his famous dance moves at Worthy Farm and would be an amazing way to cap a 50-year career. A source said: “The band are gearing up for a load of live dates but tend to leave big decisions like this until the last minute.

“Michael Eavis is desperate to get the band confirmed and has made initial contact with their people.

“It would be a massive coup to get the band playing Glasto on what could be their last round of live dates.

“Getting a decision from the whole band can be tough and at the moment they are without an agent for live shows, which is not helping the situation.

“But there is a good chance 2013 will finally be the year they make it.”

Those afraid of the Glasto mud can rest easy, though. On Monday the Stones will confirm a string of shows at the 02 Arena in London and in New York.

Back at Glastonbury, it’s not just older punters who Michael and daughter EMILY are trying to appeal to.

Another name in line for a Pyramid headline slot is MUMFORD & SONS.

In 2011 the London lads played second from top on the Other Stage but in the last few weeks they’ve had a No1 on both sides of the Atlantic with album Babel.

And they know their way round a farm better than Keef and Mick.

It doesnt say it'd be their last concert - but likely to be their 'last round' of concerts

Its been all of a couple of months since the last tabloid speculation of a Glastonbury gig - the band denied it then.

Personally, I think its quite likely they'll do it this time.

And if they do - then the bad news is that the tickets for the 2013 festival sold out in a couple of minutes last week.

As far as I'm aware they DO release some more tickets in the new year after the line ups have been confirmed, but the vast majority of what will be available are always gone before a single act is confirmed.

If the Nov 25 & 29 dates for the 02 are correct, that leaves the 27th for a possible gig in between somewhere.

I'd be surprised if they play one then though. There are whispers of one or two small warm up gigs however, which if they take place are likely to be in Paris and/or London - but which are most likely to be for insiders, family & friends etc.
