Have no fear mi amigo!  Los Tres Gusanos are here to help!!!

In terms you can best relate to, they say this band you love will not have their original bassist participating in this reunion. But will have a younger, fatter bassist filling in instead.

Viva la tour 2013.

I am so excited I am pointing my I Phone at my penis.

JUST IN: (Thanks "NJ") Instead of the two shows in London and two in NYC; apparently there will be TWO shows in London at the end of October, then ANOTHER TWO in November in London too and two in December in Brooklyn. Possible shows in Japan and Australia as mentioned before

Where did that story come from?

Check your e-mail, we have had received some in the past from the same source, so I consdider it's reliable

Maybe you could pm me as I wont be at home for a few hours.

After 11th October, The 02 is only available on the 15th, 18th, 23rd and 31st for the rest of that month.  And the band are attending the 'Crossfire Hurricane' premiere on the 18th.  That would mean that any two dates at that venue that month would take place eight days apart, which seems unlikely. Unless theyre playing somewhere else of course.

The first two shows at the end of Rocktober will not be at the O2 Arena, one will be in Paris and one in London both will be club shows

Nice, I'd guessed the place where they'd be selling the tix in 1995 but found a huge queue when I got there so gave up...turns out I would probably have made it, oh well, saw them again in 97, 99x2 and 2002x2, including at the Oakland Arena which was a great show. Ready for one last one, PM me please if you have any tips to get tix!

I have heard from a source I believe to be reliable that there will be two shows to mark the 50th year. One is to be in London and the other in Paris. The shows will  be announced in October and are scheduled for November.

There will be at least 6 shows, the two "Arena Shows" previously announced at the end of August: two in London and two in NYC, then I'm talking about shows in October, not in november, this is in addition to the arena shows, two "club shows", one at the end of the rehearsals in Paris and then another in London before the Arena shows.

btw, from another source (not as reliable as the two sources we have and that we cannot post the whole thing yet) this third source says that it will be possible one show in Japan and one in... guess where? Yes, Australia!

The rumour of an Australian show kind of ties in with my source's connection with the London/Paris shows, as there is some significant Australian involvement in those two shows - think long time connection with the Stones and their Australian tours in the past!

Dainty working his magic? but all the way down here for 1 show? Why not do a quick eastern seaboard tour? Even if its just a warm up tour. Macca did that years ago. Ironed out the bugs & treated us like the back water suckers we are. Stones should do the same. Cant understand why they are being so cagey about everything. Must surely be an announcement very soon. Rolling Stones At 50: Mining Interviews for E-Books

The Rolling Stones have been playing together for five decades, but apparently time is still on their side.

The Rolling Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. NBC Publishing gets in on the act with a new video-enhanced e-book.

The Rolling Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. NBC Publishing gets in on the act with a new video-enhanced e-book.
Jumping into the fray of Stones mania that began this summer when the group celebrated its golden anniversary, NBC Publishing (Nasdaq: CMCSA‎) on Tuesday released a video-enhanced e-book featuring exclusive archival interviews with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

The e-book, “Mick and Keith: Never Stop,” features interviews produced by NBC’s “Today” show and conducted by music journalist and former “Today” music correspondent Rona Elliot. In the interviews -- filmed while the band was on break from the “Steel Wheels Tour” in the summer of 1989 -- Jagger and Richards reflect on the band’s history and its enduring legacy.

The book also features images from the noted roc 'n’ roll photographers Henry Diltz, Bob Gruen and Ebet Roberts, along with an original cartoon by the New Yorker cartoonist Harry Bliss. The Grammy-winning producer Steve Jordan introduces the book with a video introduction.

“This book gives fans a real insight to how Mick and Keith think about the same things. The thing in the book that really sums it all up is Rona asking the one question to the both of them and then them answering completely differently,” Jordan said in a statement.

A promo reel for the book is available on YouTube.

NBC Publishing was launched in January by NBCUniversal, which has been looking to mine its extensive archive of news and entertainment footage to take advantage of the growing enhanced e-book market. The rise of Apple’s (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPad and other tablet computers has sparked a demand for video-enhanced e-books, positioning television companies to get in on the ground floor of a new publishing frontier.

In addition to footage from the “Today” show, NBC Publishing has said it will incorporate footage from NBC Nightly News, Dateline and Peacock Productions into 30 e-book titles this year, according to Publishers Weekly.

Elliot, who worked on “Today” in the 1980s and 1990s, has been working on making her archival interviews available to music fans. For the Stones interviews, she spoke with Jagger at New York’s Waldorf Astoria and with Richards on the island of Antigua in the West Indies. Over the years, she has also interviewed such rock icons as Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, Tina Turner, Marvin Gaye and Ray Charles. There is no word on whether those interviews will be incorporated into future e-books.

Well, here's something different:

Rolling Stones rumored to be coming to Newark in December

Published: Friday, October 05, 2012, 1:30 PM

  By Tris McCall/The Star-Ledger

The Stones may roll into Newark this December.

Is Newark getting Stoned this holiday season?

The Rolling Stones, who have been rocking steady for decades, are expected to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a short touring circuit. That tour may be stopping at the Prudential Center.
According to the Showbiz 411 website, the Stones are considering concerts at Prudential Center on Dec. 16 and 17. These would be the band's first area dates since the Beacon Theater shows on the Bigger Bang Tour in 2007. The Stones haven't played New Jersey since their Giants Stadium date in 2006.

"I’m just awestruck that the Rolling Stones are still doing big shows, and it’s thrilling to me that they’re going to tour," E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt, a man who knows something about rock longevity, told The Star-Ledger. "I can’t imagine the world without them, and as long as they’re around, we still feel like the new guys."

Appearing at the opening celebration for an exhibition spotlighting 50 years of Rolling Stones photography in London, in July, Mick Jagger said: "You will definitely be seeing us all together soon. It’s been great fun being back together and there are a lot of memories in here. I can’t believe it’s been 50 years. We’ve been hanging out together, seeing quite a bit of each other and we want to do some gigs."
The Prudential Center declined to comment about the Rolling Stones concerts. Robert Sommer of Rock Entertainment Management said that the potential Stones dates were speculation at this point.
So nothing is confirmed; fans are advised to keep fingers crossed.

The Stones haven’t yet rolled out their itinerary for the proposed tour, which is rumored to be a short one: a few dates in London and a few in the New York area. But no matter the length, the 50th anniversary circuit is likely to be a testament to the enduring legacy of one of the foremost rock bands in history."I honestly don’t know much more than the man on the street with this one," said Bill German, who formerly published the band’s official newsletter, Beggars Banquet. "I get the sense that the tour will happen, but that there are some kinks to iron out first."
The Rolling Stones formed in London in 1962, and released "A Bigger Bang," the band's 22nd album, in 2005. In between, the Stones have cut a series of landmark albums and evergreen singles, including "Paint it Black," "Gimme Shelter," "Let's Spend the Night Together," "Start Me Up," and the immortal "Satisfaction."

Two original Stones are no longer with the group. Brian Jones, the '60s fashion icon and near-mystical figure who played the parts "you can't hear, but you know they're there," died in 1969, one of the first casualties of the hard-living rock and roll lifestyle. Original bassist Bill Wyman, whose steady, funky, confident throb on "You Can't Always Get What You Want" made its wisdom feel unimpeachable, left the group in 1993. But the core writing partnership of singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards remains intact, and the dignified Charlie Watts is still holding down the backbeat. Ronnie Wood, the former member of the Faces who replaced Mick Taylor in the group in the mid-'70s, continues as the second guitarist.

On August 29, Billboard reported that the Stones are considering November stops at the O2 arena in London and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Showbiz 411 suggested the Barclays dates would be Dec. 6 and 7.

Absolutely nothing in any media here about possible Oz shows. I thought at least Nui Te Koha would have some morsel of info. I cant see why we would merit any attention from a band that ignored us for 22 years. What makes us suddenly so special?

Don't see anything particularly new here, but nonetheless:

Rolling Stones' Keith Richards: 'We've booked shows in London and New York'
Guitarist lets future gig plans slip

...
Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has revealed that the band have been booked
to play live shows in London and New York.

The legendary rockers had long been rumoured to be playing live again this year to
celebrate their 50th anniversary, with frontman Mick Jagger claiming in July that they
were planning on sharing a stage together this autumn.

Despite speculation, the band turned down the chance to play the Olympics opening
ceremony and denied reports they would play two shows at London's O2 Arena this
November. But in an interview with Q magazine, Richards let slip that they had booked
a run of shows in both the UK and the US – although he didn't reveal when the dates
would take place.

He said: We've got some shows in London, I believe, and in New York, but I really can't
talk about any of that at the moment. They've put the gag on me on this. You can hint!
Richards also said the band's rehearsals were going from strength to strength, adding:
"Everybody relies upon their instincts, especially once you start working regularly together
again. Because it pulls all the bits and pieces together, which when you're not working and
playing with the guys, dissipates, obviously; you're not having that immediate contact.

"But kind of two days of hanging around with the guys again, a certain demon energy takes
over and you wonder where it's coming from!"

The Rolling Stones will release a brand new Greatest Hits compilation in November titled 'GRRR!’.
The collection, which is being released to coincide with the band's 50th anniversary, will feature
two brand new songs, 'Gloom And Doom' and 'One Last Shot', which were recorded in Paris last
month. This is the first new material the band have recorded since their 2005 album 'A Bigger Bang'.

Maybe not BIG news, but news nonetheless:

Jo Wood: Why should middle-aged women have to wear bras?

...

Jo Wood, the former wife of the Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, says mature women should not be criticised for ditching their bras.

Jo Wood, who was the subject of tabloid scrutiny last week after she wore a translucent top to a London party, has spoken out about why middle-aged women should not be criticised for ditching their bras.

“We should be allowed to go without,” declares the former wife of Ronnie Wood, the Rolling Stones guitarist. “I mean, they’re only breasts. It’s no big deal. We need to calm down about it.”

Wood, 57, points out that a younger woman also attended the event, the 33rd birthday party of Ben Caring, at Annabel’s nightclub, without her underwear. “Another girl did it, who’s in her twenties, so, what the hell?”

The former model, who now runs an organic beauty products firm, says she was unaware of the effect that the light would have on her outfit.

“I didn’t know you could see through that,” she said at the Inspiration Awards for women, at Cadogan Hall, in Chelsea. “I had no idea until I saw the photos. I went, 'How did that happen?’ My sons were probably more embarrassed than me.”
