Here's the BIG NEWS we've been waiting for!
Rolling Stones deny 50th anniversary showsadded: 22 Sep 2012 // by: Noise11
After much rumour as fact the Rolling Stones have made a statement to say that those stories of some 50th anniversary shows we keep hearing so much about are not true.
In a tweet, the Stones announced, 'Dear fans, no Rolling Stones gigs have been confirmed or announced. Do not buy tickets from the SongKick website, or anywhere else'.
The Rolling Stones have been rumoured to be playing two shows in New York and two shows in London before the end of this year to mark their 50th anniversary year. The story even spread to them doing one show at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.
The Rolling Stones will mark their 50th anniversary with the greatest hits album 'GRRR!' in November featuring two new tracks 'Gloom and Doom' and 'One More Shot', recorded in Paris in August 2012.
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood are also confirmed to attend the premiere of the movie 'Crossfire Hurricane' later this month.

NOT what theyre referring to.. the first sentence in that post is totally incorrect.
Songkick had listed two shows at London's 02 Arena for
23 and 30 March 2013 and there was a lot of questions being asked on the Stones facebook page (and some speculation on some fansites too) asking about this.
Within a day or so, the Stones issued a statement to specifically deny the dates listed on Songkick and to advise fans not to buy tickets from unauthorised sites. Songkick even replied to the statement apologising for the erroneous listing .
Its standard practice that they'll say 'no shows have been confirmed or announced' - it doesnt mean they wont be taking place.
Its typical of tenth rate news sites to twist a statement into being something it isnt. No doubt, the ever reliable contact music will soon follow suit.
For the record, the rehearsals will be starting soon.
I dont know when the official announcement will be, but there WILL be shows in London and New York before the end of 2012. I'm not allowed to post the London dates yet but they will be in late November. I've now been given the same dates by two different contacts.
The New York shows I know less information about but they will take place in December.
