Mars mission Curiosity a success!!

The Mars Mission Curiosity is a success!!!! NASA had a cool "live" program that simulated the mission/landing. I was able to move the rover and it's relationship to the stars. I took these screen shots as it was happening live. What a trip that was!!!

They are not trying to PROVE or DISPROVE anything...
There is A LOT  greater "massive waste of time and  money" here on Earth.

Science for the sake of science and exploration  is never a waste...an investment in knowledge and discovering the previously unknown is a good thing...it is what drives us
as a thinking, intelligent creature.

Of course the money could be spent here on Earth...that is an entirely different set of perimeters  and hurdles to get over.

I agree with my esteemed compatriot Mr. Android. The science and technology involved in getting Curiostity to the surface of Mars was mind-boggling in and of itself. Watching the landing go off without a hitch reminded me of my childhood in the 60s, when the Gemini and Apollo missions thrilled me and made me (and the rest of the planet) rethink what was possible. You'd think we could ALL take pride in the achievement, instead of finding fault and then blaming someone (I would assume the President) for that fault.

Come to think of it, why are our Olympians wasting their time seeing how fast they can swim or how high high into the heavens they can fly? What are they trying to prove?
