Excuse me, but since you decided to politicize this thread, here's the more accurate analogy:  America can't afford to take chances with an inexperienced replacement President, especially when it's taken nearly four years to get back on track after the last Republican disaster.

At least half of America disagrees with your evaluation of the President's job performance.  People realize that the failed Republican policies of the past won't work any better this time than they ever have.  Democrats have surpassed Republicans in job creation for decades.  We'll do even better in President Obama's second term, especially if we retake the House and hold the Senate (thank you, Todd Akin!).

Following Monday night's extremely controversial call that decided the winner of the Packers-Seahawks game, several eye doctors in the Green Bay area are offering special packages to the referees who worked the game.

To many watching at home, it appeared that a Green Bay defender actually intercepted the Hail Mary pass thrown into the end zone as time expired. Referees on the scene gave conflicting calls, but ultimately the Seahawks were awarded the touchdown, and the game, much to the frustration of Packers fans everywhere.

Christopher Smith, a doctor at Optivision Eye Care in the Green Bay area, is now offering his services to "help" the referees who made the call.

“The referees obviously they had some vision issues, so we decided that they we could help them with that,” Smith told WTVR, adding that he and his staff will also be available to discuss the rules of the NFL.

Another doctor with the center, Gerald Clarke, told WKOW that the referee who made the contentious call, a replacement brought in to sub for the locked out veteran officials, is clearly exhibiting signs of near-sightedness.

"He could finally see beyond his arm, which is what he needs to see, something beyond his own three feet in front of him, because he's pretty much nearsighted from that standpoint," Clarke told the station.

I am a Seahawks fan.  I am disgusted by the bad call and ashamed of fans who are all too eager to accept the benefit of this mistake.  This "win at all costs; the truth be damned" attitude displays a lack of moral compass I associate with Republicans generally and the Rove/Limbaugh wing in particular.

What the NFL did this season is tarnish the shield.
I do not care if anyone likes the Packers or not, they got robbed on an obvious bad call.
This will affect them for the remainder of the year.
Monday night was the only reason there was a settlement.
He placed players lives in jeopardy.
Someone getting paralyzed was the only other reason there would have been stepped up negotiations.

Goddell should be asked to step down for his inexcusable lack of foresight in not negotiating with the referees for two months.
This is a business which makes millions of dollars & you tell me you can't seriously discuss the officiating contract?

He should know better, & that's why this happened, he was on the ref committee before he became commissioner.
He should be tossed today.

Replacement refs are gone thanks to a massive fail.

So, now we are back to waiting for the regular refs to have a massive fail.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank helped facilitate Wednesday night's agreement with the referees. (US Presswire)

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank was among a handful of owners who hastened the process of reaching an agreement with the 122 regular NFL officials late Wednesday night.

Blank, who spoke to Steve Wyche on NFLAM on Thursday morning, said Monday night's fiasco between Green Bay and Seattle increased the urgency to get a deal done.

“That's probably reasonable [to assume],” Blank said. “There's been a tremendous amount of effort on behalf of the league staff and the owners and on the officials as well to get a deal done. It's not like a week's gone by where there was no discussion.”

Blank also referred to Monday's game as the “feather on the cap” and said that efforts were made on both sides to reach a deal before the season started but there was no point in reaching one that wasn't amenable to both sides.

“I think this is also good for the replacement officials. I say that kind of tongue in cheek. They were out there working hard, doing the best that they can, and clearly, they didn't have the experience that was necessary. It wasn't really fair to them to hold them to the same standard, but we have to,” he said. “They're probably happy that this is over for them, too. I don't know if they'll publicly say that, but I think it's better really for all of us.”

Blank said keeping the replacement officials from visiting Lambeau Field for this Sunday's Packers-Saints game was never a point of emphasis.

“They're very passionate fans [in Green Bay], but they're very respectful fans. I'm sure they weren't happy about what happened on Monday night and I understand that from the players' standpoint, the coaches' standpoint, and certainly the fans' standpoint. They would've expressed themselves but, they would've been respectful at the same time.”

The officials are scheduled to start work Thursday night, when the Ravens host the Browns.

That is unadulterated crap.  Those rentarefs would have had to wear protective helmets & flak jackets, as well as enter Lambeau with Secret Service protection for that game.
