"Rolling Stones 50" - the book

Just got it in the mail today.

What's everyone's thoughts on it?

On first glance - looks really nice with some wonderful photos. The 60's photos especially are fantastic.

The individual band member's comments on the photos are a nice touch (although the 'overview' commentary from them as a band - presumably added by someone else - are a bit bland).

A bit disappointed that there's nothing to suggest the Stones existed at all between 1982 and 1989. It seems to have been airbrushed out of history entirely. Nothing post 2007 either, although unlike the 80s, they haven't exactly worked in that time. (A few 'SAL' movie premieres would have made some sense as it's meant to cover the entire 50 years).

What do you all think?

Just delivered here in Mexico too! I was very exited, and give a fast view, i expected some from Mexico Undercover video sessions or first latinamerican shows or something, but in the index never found that word "Mexico", anyway, i think is a really good book with a lot of photos and takes that never was released til now...

Stones T-shirt Day & 50 Book:

at last the two shows i attended outside my country are in consecutive sheets: Toronto 05 & Twickenham 06

I also got it today, I requested it to my PO Box but since duties must be paid in advance the bastards sent it home, and my daughter paid for it

Anyway, it's a great photo book, have not read it but the images are great, most of the book on the Brian era, with just a few with Stu, MIck Taylor years start at page 196 of 352, many images new for me some from well known sessions but different takes and some completely new (for me)

Is it any different than the 9 million other picture books out there based on the Stones?  I'm good with Life on the Road and According to the Rolling Stones.

As usual Gazza, you would of done a better job getting the facts straight! You seriuosly should consider writing your own book, a COMPLETE compilation. They never get right, but I know you will!
