I'm seriously thinking the no tour stuff was a ruse... and they are going to be doing a lot of stuff and surprise us...
I've been actually thinking the same thing. The Stones camp keeps saying that this is going to be an exciting year. I don't think the bootlegs, a book and the documentry (all of which I've been pumped up for by the way) could be the only things in store for MAJOR excitment. To me that means new album and/or a tour.
I think the Stones should play a surprise gig at the Marquee on the actual 50th anniversary date of the first gig. How cool would that be? Regardless, they definitely have something big up their sleeve. If the tour is bumped to 2013 I think it's more due to financial reasons then due to Keith's health or anything else. I think they are banking on the fact that in 2013 the economy will be better then it currently is. If Wyman comes on tour (& maybe even Mick Taylor?!?) on what will almost certainly be the last tour of that kind you can bet they will be looking to cash in big time. I think the delay in the tour has more to do with the economy then anything. The question is, when it's announced, how should they do it?!?
