Priority Tickets on sale for 02 customers from 9:00 AM Wednesday, March 14 2012

Thanks to Flairville and Paulywaul for the heads up.

Dont have the on sale date and time for the public sale tickets yet (nothing on Ronnie's official site, his facebook site or ticketmaster - helpful as ever!)

Mick Taylor supposedly playing a gig as part of the same festival on 6th July. More info if and when I get it.

This is all meant as a lead in to the Olympics, right?
Or is the Blues festival just coinciding w/ the expected crowds and hoopla?

The Olympics dont start until the end of July. Doubt its of any significance.

I think this show rules out the chances of any Rolling Stones concerts in July. If they were doing any gigs around the time of their 50th anniversary (12th July), they'd surely be in mid-rehearsal by the time of Ronnie's gig.

Ronnie probably. Screw it. Mick,Ronnie,Bill and Charlie should go on tour. Get Mick Hucknall or somebody to sing. Or even Bernard. Do some Stones stuff and some old blues stuff. It's better than waiting around for the moon and the stars to align just right for a whole band tour. Fuck you Gazza, Will ya?

All of the Stones but one performing at the same time. That hasn't happened since the No Security tour when Ronnie went AWOL on several shows.

Ronnie playing with MICK T and Bill is just amazing! This is Ronnie's way of bringing the band back together! Ronnie can give a first hand report to MICK & KEEF about how well the gig went down, and Ronnie can assure MICK/KEEF that the next tour is no problem with RONNIE & MICK T in fine form. together they can cover for KEEF if they are concerned about a problem. I really hope that goes down, and since its the 50th, bringing back MICK T is appropriate. As for Bill, him playing with RONNIE is encouraging. Darryl's recent appearance with Bernard and Tim in NY is no coincidence either, he is showing the boys that he's still in the game. Maybe they can have 2 bass players, if Bill wants to only be in certain shows or do certain songs. The recent Stones solo activity and various band configurations is some very exciting shit! I'm getting a very good feeling that something special is going to happen! The momentum is building up before the July summit!

He's playing with them primarily because they're people he knows and he was putting a gig together. Likewise when they all (except for Mick and Keith) played at the Stu tribute gig last year. It's a fair point though that gigs like these are good for a bit of feedback or insight!

Only problem with the 'Ronnie can assure Mick and Keith about Mick Taylor' thing is that every eye witness account I've read from fans about this gig indicated that Mick T's performance was underwhelming at best.

As great as it sounds in theory (and its almost certainly something thats been discussed amongst the band), I've yet to see one thing to convince me that a full tour involving all of the surviving band members is practicable.  Guest appearances here and there - sure - but Wyman and/or Taylor rejoining the band full time to perform across continents? Not likely.

Ronnie Wood & Friends, HMV Apollo Hammersmith - review

...

Wood’s two-hour blues lesson had some longueurs and a spot of celebrity nepotism, coming good in the end with some boisterous riffmanship and thunderous vocals

In the absence of a Rolling Stones 50th anniversary concert, this Blues Fest gathering featuring old Stones, and led by current guitarist Ronnie Wood, was the next best thing. He also assembled a sprawling band to blast us with harmonica, saxophone and piano during an evening celebrating blues label Chess Records (whose artists inspired the Stones).

Wood’s singing was pedestrian, his guitar playing often superb: the primal riffs on Howlin’ Wolf’s 300 Pounds of Joy built a boisterous blues groove. The priapic 65-year-old drew attention to his reputation with Muddy Waters’s I Just Want to Make Love to You.

“It’s what we all want to do,” said Wood, whose middle-aged female admirers screamed and, in one case, clambered onto the stage.

The ex-Stones were more marginal figures: guitarist Mick Taylor merely showed glimpses of greatness but at least 75-year-old bassist Bill Wyman grabbed some glory when he barked Chuck Berry’s You Never Can Tell.

It was the female singers who did these songs justice, though, particularly Sharleen Spiteri’s thunderous Scottish soul vocal on J.B. Lenoir’s Mama, Talk to Your Daughter.

Wood’s two-hour blues lesson had some longueurs and a spot of celebrity nepotism. James McCartney — son of Macca — had talent but not enough to sing Johnny B. Goode.

Our reward for paying attention was a celebratory encore of It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll (But I Like It), a Rolling Stones golden jubilee moment to savour.

Not likely but my guess is that RONNIE really wants a Stones tour and he is experimenting with the different ex-band members to address a possible solution to anyone still struggling with the decision on what type of tour can work for them.

Mick's playing I think is really great...but when he was on Jimmy Fallon...he seemed distant...almost bored...perhaps
that is the underwhelming feeling folks are getting...nothing worse than making your art a chore for the audience's sake
