I've noticed something with a lot of alcoholics:

Even if they're skinny, they develop something of a "double chin" (but not exactly) which gives them the appearance of having dimples when smiling. Examples:




Why is this? I've seen it on other guys too, non celebs. All were of average weight not fat, and didn't previously have a dimple.

Yeah it's weird. My dad NEVER had dimples as a kid, but he was an alcoholic for many years--from his teens to his early 30s, then a binge drinker once in a while throughout his 30s and 40s and now a pill head. By his late 20s or early 30s he already had the alcoholic sort of dimples despite never being fat. My father always had a full face and with the bushy mustache he had he looked quite a LOT like Saddam Hussein mixed with John Travolta or Bruce Willis.

Or my sisters' father. He didn't have dimples either and had a totally different shaped face from my own father and was always tall (over 6 feet) and lean. By the time he died at age 35 from acute alcohol poisoning he looked like Gable does in the first picture--much older than 35, with the same dimple and jawline. He looked like Robert Redford meets an older Clark Gable or Errol Flynn.

I don't think Pete Townshend has got dimples, he's a recovering Alcoholic, & yes it goes with age.

I have double dimples..whats your point?.....my nose has dimples from coke and so does my throat from hash.....Son wake up and smell the tequila!
