Sadly, not many know about them. They are too busy behaving like assholes.

Nirvana?

...

Yes, they are great. If you're a fucking EMO gay asshole!

Just kidding. I like Nirvana, in mild doses. Alternated with the Pixies, the Replacements and Weird Al Yankovic. I don't mind listening to "Rape me" as background music, while on a date with a hot chick. With very big breasts.

But what about that "Jeremy" video? I hate that shit. But maybe Pearl Jam are a decent band after all (give me Ween instead, though; the best rock duo in history, without a doubt), judging by their performance in Mirrorball. (Although maybe that was because Nirvana was unavailable......)

By the early nineties, I was in my Macca-Lennon Beatle solo studio albums phase. Why should I care about Metallica (how many people here have heard that "Lulu" comedy album? It has to be a comedy album; otherwise, as a vanity project, it beats SuperHeavy as one of the worst albums of 2011 --possibly, I don't care about most of todays recording artists--), when I could be delighted with "Band on the Run". That is one masterpiece of an album. Of course, some of my friends made fun of me, because I was not sophisticated enough to purchase Aerosmith albums.

What's with all the fanaticism? Just enjoy the music; don't follow the brands. Even J. J. Cale said that he liked that Britney Spears critically acclaimed single "Baby hit me one more time" (or whatever it's called), because of the sound engineering (if I recall correctly).

Point is: Nirvana and Pearl Jam suck, because they didn't record Some Girls. And Keith Richards is God. Plus (as it if were such), according to the media, Kurt Cobaine had a thingie with Courtney Love.

Courtney Love.

"She called her band Hole. HOLE! Not hole as in complete. But hole as in dirty stinky pussy." That sort of redeems everybody, coming to think of it.

BTW, I'm listening right now to Donovan. Not that anyone should care.

I just wanted to get riffing on some Ray Davies lyrics to crap the thread!   The real Rolling Stones tongue

I just listened to Nevermind from start to finish.  Some tasty sounds in there for sure.  Hear some Oasis in In Bloom, and Noel only swipes the best.  A few too many references to guns and killing for my taste, especially considering what happened.  A bit grim and humorless overall.
