Came across this page with classic photos of the original Route 66. Know the Stones played San Bernadino once, but doubt they traveled this hard road. http://www.djmick.co.uk/travel/85-years-of-route-66-92-photos/ BTW, the Stones learned the song from a Chuck Berry lp, but he didn't write it.

Cal. to Kentucky and Va. to visit relatives. We had favorite motels {"Roys"}, towns {Tucumcari, N.M.}, eateries.....and, of course, Burma Shave signs! Always got a kick out of the song....historic road!

He knocked on my door and said he always loved that song and wanted to know who was doing that version. I was then allowed to attend my first Stones show in July '78.
