good list

for me, heaven and too much blood are some of their best, or at least my favourite, songs

there's a strange ethereal touch to heaven that i haven't found replicated by the stones, or music in general, maybe jah is not dead

and too much blood is a great song, cool beat and nice playing/weaving? on the guitar

Then it's down to personal picks. Mine would be 100 Years Ago, most of Undercover, Hey Negrita, Everything Is Turning To Gold (it should have been a hit!) etc etc.

No one has mentioned the forgotten classic "It's Not Easy", not even gimmekeef (who has the lyric "runnin' like a cat in a thunderstorm"'as a tagline), which proves its preeminence as the Stones' most underrated tune. This song has it all: chunky Berryesque chords, sinewy lead guitar and memorable lyrics such as "Just a big bed and a telephone/Like the last remnants of a stately home". Dig out your old copy of Aftermath and give it a listen, folks; if you dig the Stones (and if you don't, what are you doing here?), you're in for a treat.

Isn't "underrated" the same as "not appreciated or obscure or Not-known"?? I mean "The spider and the fly" is probably more known than "Cry to me" or "Hitch Hike", to name just a few. Just asking.

BJ, yes, I left out that song, & it's a great one, that stands out on Aftermath.

Indeed my friend.......classic and I will give a spin tonight.......Aftermath stands imho as the most underrated Stones album.....
