A MURAL is to be erected at the railway station where Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Keith Richards first became friends.

The real Rolling Stones tongue

The pair chatted at Dartford in Kent in 1961 and Richards agreed to join Jagger’s band Little Boy Blue and the Blue Boys. The glass mural is part of a £9million makeover.

Dartford council’s Jeremy Kite said: “I’m delighted.”

Ok, don't shoot me but.....I think the rail station deserves a mural. The Jagger/Richards connection should be celebrated. But.......they didn't actually form the Rollin' {Rolling} Stones. Wink

Brian Jones is the one who put the ad in the Jazz News....and Ian Stewart was the first to respond. Keith, along with Mick, came along after that. Since Brian has been gone for so long, I can understand the casual fan/person/etc. thinking that the band was started by Mick & Keith.....I'm sure Mick & Keith would have stayed together, one way or another, and had a band in which they wrote the music and became famous. It just would have been a different band...

But......the mural sounds cool, and I think it's a great idea.
