Sure, it's just that Place Pigalle had some modified titles as you pointed out (You don't have to go/Biscuit Blues)

Looks great on Google Docs, link got cut though, here's a short one : http://tinyurl.com/sgsessions - maybe you could allow for others to edit it.

I'd written about "Brown Leaves" (Golden Caddy) here : http://stones.servebeer.com/Songs.htm and about "I can't help it" ("Shaved Stone" & "Love You Too Much")  here : http://stones.servebeer.com/Songs/traxd.htm#shaved

Google docs is new to me. I uploaded it there to a newly opened account (Gazza63a) but the link wouldnt work.  Angry Will have a go at it again later.

I could e-mail the spreadsheet to you if you want, though.

Thanks, I was able to save it after logging in, online editing would allow others to pitch in, but it's already in a good shape Wink

We should really take a look at the studio stuff, and start our speculations...

Songs that are most likely to make it to bonus disc.

We know they aren't opposed to alt. versions...

Two that a likely would be Keith singing songs... did he do vocals on Bob?
Yellow Cab is a contender.
Fiji Jim and Misty Roads too... I'm thinking the bonus disc will be more funk and country, and less of the punk and abressive edge they seemed to put on, but who knows... I'm just going by the outtakes, seems more slower stuff on the boots... except for the early versions of released tracks.

I'm very happy with this reissue. Takes my mind off of the godawful side stuff - a shitty book, a poor man's super group (is that Shaggy sharing a mic with Mick?), the Simply Red Faces - and gives me something to look forward to. I hope the vaults stay open..

This is cool, interesting, new, exciting, and probably expensive! Loyal fans, the Stones know they can always count on us! Happy to get anything 'new' even if it's 'old'. Love Some Girls! I wonder if there will be different 'packages' to buy, duplicate songs and some new thing to go with it. If you buy the first thing next thing you know there is a second thing with all that was in the first thing and a little more, and then a third thing!

When I listen to Some Girls it brings me back in time to the summer it was released, one of my best summers ever! Amazing friends and lovers. Isnt it strange how certain music brings you back to what you were doing then? You dont wanna know, haha, I can barely believe some of the shit I did, and I cant act that way now that I'm older so those days and nights are worth recalling! Long live the Stones!

I would imagine that 'I Need You' with Keith doing most of the vocals would be a serious contender.

Fiji Jim, Misty Roads, No Spare Parts and Do You Think I Really Care (aka Yellow Cab) must be in with a good shout. No Spare Parts would need some work on the vocals and lyrics though - although of course there could well be a more complete take.

Claudine - no. Still litigious.

Everlasting is my love, Do You Get Enough, Its A Lie - possibles.

Really hope there's a finished take of 'Its a Lie' out there.

All good choices, there's a blues tune that Mick said he' recently written lyrics for, Biscuit Blues maybe? Since there probably won't be an "Emotional Rescue" set, Gangster's Moll would be a great choice. Oh and Dancing Girls too (long known as Linda Lu on the "Lonely at the Top" boot)

It's a shame the vinyl edition of Some Girls is not included with the 'Super Deluxe' package.

I can't see them double dipping on the live in Texas set... that would be weird and kill sales... I see the DVd having the videos, maybe SNL appearance, interviews, and if there is live stuff it would be clips of Texas or totally different shows.

This is what's out there, according to my own records. Taken from notes I made a couple of years ago and with some recent corrections.

Not suggesting its perfect or definitive, but it should give you all a good idea.  The sources I've relied on for sessiongraphies are mostly Nico Zentgraf's 'The Complete Works' (www.nzentgraf.de) and Felix Aeppli's 'Ultimate Guide'  - http://aeppli.ch/tug.htm

I Need You      3:32            Girls, Pills and Powders      Main vocal by Keith, with backing and some lead vocals by Mick
It's A Lie      4:41      1      Place Pigalle Vol. 3      Starts with count-in and drum roll. Bluesy rocker with rough vocals and great hamronica by Sugar Blue Also on G,P&P as V2.
It's A Lie      5:21      2      **not circulated on bootleg LP/CD **      Lyrics still unfinished, but musically more developed than earlier take
It's All Wrong      3:36            Place Pigalle Vol. 4      fast punk style song with unfinished lyrics
It Won't Be Long            1      Soul Survivor (LP)      Early rough version, Keith on vocals and (probably) piano
Light Up      5:02            Fast Talking      Medium paced instrumental, with pedal steel
Love You Too Much      3:42      3      Some Girls Made Many Girls      Instrumental version, with acoustic guitar high in mix.  Check against other versions (listed as V3 on Girls, pills etc – 3:42)
Love You Too Much      4:08      4      Girls, Pills and Powders      Almost a finished track. Lyrics much more complete. Keith duets on chorus and prominent steel guitar
Never Let Her Go      4:51            Better Results      Slightly reggae-tinged track with distorted guitar and electric piano. Some guide vocals by Mick. Listed twice on Girls, pills and powders (this title + 'Someone know'. Seems to be the same take))
Never Make You Cry #1      3:56      1      Girls, Pills and Powders      Guide vocals. Maybe as v3? This track is doubtful
Never Make You Cry #2      4:46      2      Place Pigalle Vol. 4      Mick announcing chord changes (more electric piano noticeable in last minute)
Never Make You Cry #3      3:58      3      Place Pigalle Vol. 3      Electric piano more prominent through more of the track than above version (3:58)
No Spare Parts      6:11            Girls, Pills and Powders      Country song with prominent electric piano. Mick sings in his faux-Southern accent. Could have been releasable with a bit of work on the lyrics and a more polished vocal.
Not The Way To Go #1      7:04      1      **not circulated on bootleg LP/CD **      Instrumental listed by Zentgraf but not by Aeppli. Exists but not on a bootleg CD. Two later takes (with guide vocals) were cut at RCA Studios, Hollywood, August 1978 so it's possible that this song may come from that session.
Petrol      3:47            Place Pigalle Vol. 4      Mick vocal demo with Stu on piano. Also known as 'Petrol Gang'
Red Eyes      3:57            Place Pigalle Vol. 2      aka "When You're Gone". Guide vocal by Mick. Later recorded & released by Ronnie in 1981
Shame, Shame, Shame      3:50            Place Pigalle Vol. 2      Jimmy Reed cover, with slightly loose vocal by Mick. Sugar Blue on harmonica
Sheep Dip Blues      0:34            Place Pigalle Vol. 3      very brief blues instrumental with piano & harmonica (fades after 40 secs or so)
Some People Tell Me      4:49            Place Pigalle Vol. 2      A driving blues in a similar style to 'Stop Breaking Down', with rough 'growling' guide vocal by Mick.
Stay Where You Are      1:34            Girls, Pills and Powders      Brief loose instrumental jam
The Way She Held Me Tight      4:34            Girls, Pills and Powders      aka "Misty Roads"
Untitled Piano Instrumental      4:38            Place Pigalle Vol. 3      4: 40. Mostly piano driven. Check if its 'Light Up'. Theres no track listed for Place Pigalle Vol 4 called 'untitled piano instrumental'
Up Against The Wall      6:04            Place Pigalle Vol. 3       Instrumental with very prominent harmonica. An incomplete version (3:58) in better quality is on 'Sheep Dip Blues'. Also known as 'On Our Knees'
You Don't Have To Go      4:33            Place Pigalle Vol. 2      4:33 Jimmy Reed song. Mostly instrumental with rough vocal and lots of harmonica and guitar solos. Sounds a bit like "Black Limousine"! 'Biscuit Blues' on Girls, Pills & Powders
You Win Again      3:31            Place Pigalle Vol. 2      Hank Williams cover, with out of tune vocal by Mick.  Later recorded solo by Keith for a Hank Williams Tribute album

Unverified songs (not in circulation)
Angeline
We Are Ripped On Down (this may be an early 'When the whip comes down', in which case it would date from the 1st Paris session in 1977)

There are also a few songs I'm not sure about, but which have appeared on bootlegs :

I cant Help It      3:24            Girls, Pills and Powders      fast paced instrumental
feel no pain no more      4:42            Girls, Pills and Powders      Medium paced instrumental, with country/blue style lead and a lot of piano
Los Trios Guitareros      3;10            Girls, Pills and Powders      instrumental. Same as track listed above?
follow me      1:31            Girls, Pills and Powders      funky licked instrumental. No audible bass, charlie on what sounds like brushes

Additionally, there's a bit of confusion between two songs 'Golden Caddy' and 'Brown Leaves' which may or may not be the same song in different stages of development

V1      Girls, Pills and Powders      fades in. slow. Lots of guitar effects 3:05
V2      Girls, Pills and Powders      Semi-false start. Similar to above 1:48
V3      place pigalle 5/6      fastest version 2:49. close to V4 and Dancing girls
V4      Girls, Pills and Powders       faster than 1/2. closer to dancing girls 6:13
V5      All Mixed Up      sloW version more in common with versions 1 & 2
V6      Chainsaw

the tracks listed as 'Brown Leaves' are versions 3 & 4. The rest may be 'Golden Caddy'

Whoever may be bold enough to fool themselves and claim that they were not completely impressed with this personal log and record by you of those recording sessions is lying.

Excellent work - (I am sure you would even make Mr. Wyman envious at times).

Really hope Sticky Fingers is next. And Black n Blue must have heaps of stuff. Always thought that album needed 1 more "Stones" track.

If the dvd for this is 30mins, could very well be Miss You, respectable & Far away eyes clips plus the SNL stuff.
