Rolling Stones fans have an early Christmas present to look forward to in the shape of the new video for 'No Spare Parts', which goes live on The Rolling Stones official YouTube and Vevo channels on Monday Dec 19th!

'No Spare Parts' is classic Stones, you should be familiar with the easy-blues meets country-rock sound of the track from the deluxe edition of Some Girls.

The video was directed by Mat Whitecross, an acclaimed film and music video director who has recently shot videos for Coldplay and Jay-Z, as well as directing the films 'Sex Drugs and Rock & Roll' and 'Road to Guantanemo'. The footage used in the video is comprised of news reels documenting major events in 1978 and footage from the Stones' tour of the US that year which is one of their greatest.

Was it REALLY a single...i mean in the traditional sense? I haven't heard it anywhere...not that I listen to "classic rock' stations...
Even PMS gets played in my supermarket sometimes,(really).

Really dig 'Disc 2'. The debate on whether or not the Stones should add vocals or guitars or whatever to their old demos will probably go on forever, but I'm all for it: it's their half finished tracks they are playing around with. It's like the Exile bonus disc: love that one too. I would've been thrilled if they had added the demo's with the half finished stuff as an extra but they chose not to.

In spite of the efforts - tv ads, FB apps - the Exile reissue got a lot more attention. Now I think Exile is the best album ever made, so I understand, but IMO Some Girls deserves more attention.

I do not care for the official "No Spare Parts" video.
The production is weak, '72 tour footage is used, the map
of cities is missing several stops. There are these references
to events of the day which are off the mark.
It has the smell of a promotion piece to sell the box & dvd set.
After having months to create a video which would herald the
remastered lp & the tour dvd, a fractured, lack of effort video is delivered.
It should be renamed-"No Stones Involvement".
