Picked up the Deluxe edition. Great art direction on the book, but more importantly: I'm spinning the extra disc with a grin...this is a lot of fun. To soon for a song by song review - I'm currently giving it the second spin - but IMO opening the vaults is the best decision since the invention of the b-stage.

thanks, just checked this am, then saw your post... I had to use it to get the flacs for Brussels... I bought the mp3's... this weekend is going to have a great soundtrack... funny how I'm quick to complain... ready to load my gym iPod, and put exile bonus, got Brussels, going to put SG dlx on it, and realized, I don't have the live in texas audio disc yet, which I know already will blow away the old bootlegs, just like Brussels has...
good time to be a Stones fan.

I have to agree 100% on the mastering... The guy, whose name I foget, who has been mastering the studio UMG stuff... isn't any good. I'll let masters and audiophiles who go intotechnical epth have the deep discussions on Hoffmans forum on the Brussels mastering, but to my ears... it is damn good... not top tier audiophile standards, but pretty damn good... doesn't sound limited or brickwalled, I didn't have clipping... but I neeed to blast it in the car...

mine isn't just a blu ray player... it's a PS3, the one made to play SACD's... which I've been told has been cracked and someone found a way to extract SACD audio too... it has gotten so complicated in my set up. I have 4 sources for music. CD/SACD player, PS3, iPod dock and computer with external HD all to my amplifier... then I also have a home theater that I can run music from PS3 into those speakers... which are pretty damn good speakers, the sub woofer helps... I know how much better my DVD's play in the blu ray, the clarity and sound is much improved over and DVD palyer I own, even a DVD player with an HDMI cable... Blu Ray decodes so well... I will try iy out, since I only used it for SACD's, and when I did an a/b comparison between PS3 and my SACD player, the quality was high, and it was alot easier using the SACD player too... so complicated...

imo, the sacd reissues are the best sounding of the bunch. The recent 180g vinyl is close (and, again my opinion), and it is the best reissue/remaster of the rs records catalog. I hope they do sacds of the latter material, but I doubt it. I still think the beggars sacd was the biggest revelation of 'em all.

Having said that, I can't wait to get a listen to the new some girls set (and the Brussels eventually, too)
