I would guess all the vocals, including the backing high-harmony, are brand new. The timing of his phrasing is different than the original, and the lyrics are different (lonely hearts apparently are no longer made for breaking, for example). The old vocal track can't have synced up with that.

Speaking of lyrics. What's with all the Arizona shout-outs? Phoenix, Tuscon, Sonora, Benson, Del Rio. Has Mick been around those parts recently, or what?

Outtakes are outtakes for a reason. Its unreasonable to expect a song that was left off an album 33 years ago to be on a par with 'Let it Loose' or 'Gimme Shelter'. Totally different set of standards and expectations.

Anyway - this quote from a Stones spokesperson seems to suggest that its a 1978 vocal, not 2011.

I'ts the Rolling Stones, from the 2nd favorite album of mine they released... I got expectations, on all levels. I want audiophile quality remastering, buying this again for the 6th time or so... I want the bonus disc to be superb, and I want to see the movie too... My life is all about giving and doing for others... this shit is for ME! I hope my expectations get met or close to it... if not, I will be bummed!!!
