Where's the usual Rocks Off negativity?

It's already started (..still though, I love this board dearly). Already many are saying there will be no new album because, oh well...let's see: ...they simply are not into it...or ...there's no time (I guess a full year isn't even enough time for their estimation)...or Mick and Keith don't truly get along well enough...or Keith has writers block....or there is not enough interest to their target audience... or Universal isn't truly interested in a new album because it probably will not sell well... or... they will have flooded the market with too many Stones releases if they release a new studio album (that one, has some substance...still I think they will schedule things accordingly to bypass such a problem) or...Mick will be too busy on his SuperHeavy group and will probably diss The Stones and their recording possibilities... or ... well, never mind...but you get the point

My guess is yes, they will record a new studio album (however possibly it shall be released and as well made available in a "new" way... some how?...? hmmm?) because IMO 1. They would not want to exactly repeat 2002-2003 Licks concept 2. They never wanted to be touted as a touring Nostalgia act....why would they start that role now? 3. Mick and Keith have mentioned getting into the studio with The Stones and/or doing more records with The Stones a few times within the past several months.

Thats not 'negativity'. It's realism. I apologise for thinking that a Rolling Stones album in 2012 will not be a massive seller, or that their record label would be more focussed on their back catalogue, seeing as thats why they signed them in the first place added to the fact that they already have two multi-disc releases earmarked for 2012.
The fact that
I would prefer a studio album means nothing.
You seem to live in a fantasy world, Ian, where you prefer to take selected quotes by Mick and Keith over a period of years at face value. Some of us just happen to be more realistic.
By the way, can you direct me to these recent interviews with Mick where he talked about making a new Stones record?

Mick said a while ago that he was sure The Rolling Stones would do more records. Wasn't a terribly long time ago.. (but it was a while ago).
Everyone is spinning the conversation...
I never said that there was a great demand for a new Stones album. I never said their record label wouldn't be more focused on their back catalog. I never said nostalgia wasn't a big part of their act.
All I am saying is I believe they will write, record, and release a new album. Why? .. because basically every tour for the past 35 years has had one. They didn't need to release an album last time either. Licks was plenty successful with out a new album... and however much they played it, or how much ABB sold is irrelevant to my point. Point is they certainly didn't have to... but they did.
*All I am saying is I think they will record and release an album for this tour based on my aforementioned reasons- (nothing more).
