I hope this will be shown in Seattle - it would be more than worth the trip!

Was Ladies & Gentleman shown in Seattle?

It was and I attended.

On that Fandango link, you have to punch in your city/state  or zip code.

When I enter "New Orleans" I get the same result you got.
I discovered that when I enter the zip code for a theatre that's 30 miles away from me, I get a listing there.

Unless a theatre local to me signs up between now and 10/18, I'll be road-tripping.

Still says showtimes TBA and no theatres mentioned. But these things usually play at the theatre down thestreet from me. So it should be no problem.

now that I know I can easily bring in strong drink I know I can stay for the whole thing...when I saw Ln G in the theater more recently I sobered up painfully after having spent some good time at the bat next door to the cinema.
back in 1981 when I saw L n G five straight nights we all brought flasks (not that any of us were of age but....)

The Rolling Stones - Some Girls, Live in Texas

...

From October 4th Rolling Stones fans will be able to watch a previously unseen Rolling Stones concert movie, The Rolling Stones: Some Girls, Live in Texas, in digital cinemas worldwide. Originally shot on 16mm film at Fort Worth, Texas in 1978, the footage has been restored in high definition, with the sound remixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain from the original multitrack tapes.  The result is an explosive visual reminder of why The Rolling Stones are  the best live band on the planet.

The movie features many Stones classics including Honky Tonk Women, Tumbling Dice, Brown Sugar, Jumpin’ Jack Flash,  Miss You and Beast of Burden, plus an interview with Sir Mick Jagger shot in August 2011 where he introduces the concert and offers an insight into its significance in the band’s history.

Mick Jagger says: “Fort Worth was an amazing night in a blistering hot July. Watching it now, the band were really intense and focused, but we were also having a blast with the fans who were really getting into the show and the new tracks from “Some Girls”. I think our fans will love the chance to see this concert movie for the first time on the big screen.”

The Rolling Stones 1978 tour of the USA in support of that year’s “Some Girls” album is considered by fans to be one of their very best. The tour followed immediately on the release of the album and by the time the band arrived in Texas in mid-July it had hit the No.1 spot on the US charts. The tour took a “back to basics” approach, with the band and their music very much at the forefront, and little or no elaborate staging.

Filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, on 18th July 1978, this concert is typical of the tour with The Rolling Stones delivering a raw, energetic performance in front of a crowd who are clearly loving the show. Many of the tracks from “Some Girls” are included in the live set with a sprinkling of Stones classics from earlier albums. This is truly The Rolling Stones at their peak.

Running time 105 minutes
Screening at UK cinemas on 4 October 2011
Details of the cinema screenings available here

Rolling Stones' 'Some Girls' Concert Film on Oct. 18 -- Exclusive Performance Video

Posted on Sep 24th 2011 by Dan Reilly

...
Michael Putland, Hulton Archive

As Spinner recently reported, the Rolling Stones are reissuing their 1978 classic, complete with a bunch of bonus tracks, this November.

To further revisit that era, the band is also premiering the never-before-released 'Some Girls Live in Texas 1978,' a concert film recorded in Fort Worth during the tour behind that album. The DVD, which features performances of fan favorites and an interview with Mick Jagger, will be released on Nov. 21, the same day as the album reissue.

But, as Spinner can exclusively reveal, the Stones faithful will be able to see the movie on Oct. 18, when it premieres in theaters across the U.S. The movie will be screened in over 300 locations, and ticket information will be available from Fathom Events.

"I just finished off doing all the outtakes for the 'Some Girls' album we're releasing at Thanksgiving," Jagger recently told Spinner. "We did 'Exile,' we did a lot of different takes, a lot of different cuts that hadn't come out before, so we're doing the similar kind of thing with 'Some Girls,' so I've just been doing them because a lot of them weren't complete."

If you need a fix before the film premieres, check out this previously unreleased performance of 'Beast Of Burden' below.

I never thought we'd see this released let alone in this quality!

I remember thinking months ago that the Live show in Texas would be amazing with the Some Girls release. In the back of my mind though I really thought we'd just get the '78 promo videos and maybe some Saturday Night Live clips.

This is gonna blow any DVD, official release or boot, out of the water for me.

Make sure you see this at the cinema if you get chance.

I've posted that version on the site before, but not with that quality. I love that version so much that it's unreal. If people talk about a peak of their live performances, I'd say 78 was it. That tour was so incredibly tight and Charlie's playing is really out of this world. Not a single drummer in the world could come close to him and can never play like that. It is just so frighteningly crisp. Oh how I miss Bill Wyman.

I've watched this 3 times.  It's simply stellar.  They were everything a band should be and more.  And as far as Mick wondering if he was hard/rough/tough/rich enough?  Oh my yes.  Didn't even need to smile and say "please."

And watching the glimmers sing together?  What a jolt of joy that was.  All of them perfect.

Thanks much. Smiley
