great news... hope a dlx SG is still going to happen. I'm glad the DVD of the tour won't be attached to a SG dlx ed. I do wonder as Gazza mentioned, what will be going on the CD, since the entire show might not fit... but there was aa bit of time between songs... and didn't they already do overdubs and edit of the KBFH tapes that made up the bootlegs? I guess this and many other questions will be answered on our next episode!
Yes.
The KBFH 'Memphis' broadcast (which is actually just 2 songs from Memphis, plus songs from Detroit and Houston) would fit neatly on to one disc (obviously, 'Starfucker' wasnt broadcast).
Its also an even better collection of performances than the Fort Worth gig.
It'd be sweet if the CD consists of an entirely different set of songs than the DVD.
My KBFH tape is from Lexington, KY, it's a second generation cassette with the first recorded from the radio broadcast it has a very good quality but it's not an official release
There were two KBFH specials..one billed as 'Memphis' and one as 'Lexington'. The Memphis one was about 75-80 mins and the Lexington one was about an hour. Each had a few songs from the 'named' show plus others from Detroit and Houston. The songs have all ended up on the various versions of Handsome Girls bootlegs over the years (although those recordings come from the original source tapes - not the broadcasts). The version of 'When The Whip Comes Down' that was released in 1981 on 'Sucking in the 70s' comes from the KBFH Detroit recording.
From nzentgraf.de - these are the songs that were broadcast ("Starfucker" wasnt broadcast for obvious reasons although as far as I recall the source tape of it is on the bootlegs)
