JUST FUN, how much $ did you spend on the Stones

After a discussion with my daughters about concert ticketprices the next question came up. How much money did I spent on the Stones in 50 years. LOL. After some very quick mathematics, including inflation, I came up (very roughly) with somewhere around 3500/4000 euro's, counting LP's, CD's, DVD's and concerts. That's alot of money, but I guess most of you real fanatics on this board laugh about it, and come up with a much higher number. Well anyway, I'm still very happy I spend it on them, it was worth the money!!

The biggest price I paid for one ticket was 500 bucks in U.S. funds. I don't want to think about all the money I've spent.

I have not spent anywhere near as much as others have...but i don't regret one cent!!!

Ironically...the most i spent, or rather in relative terms...was on the 81 tour...where I was in High School...earning 1981 minimum wage...and managed to make it to opening nite in Philly...2 MSG shows ans 2 Byrne Arena shows ( due to luck in the lottery)...plus alcohol and hotel expenses...living large at 17!!!

It all equaled to probably equaled 1 ( non local)  show of the ABB tour...say, Atlantic City...which was cancelled and I had to eat up the hotel that nite...even though I did continue to AC...but returned a year later...

my first ticket in 1981 was under $20, my last ticket in 2006 was for free... in between, a ton of money, not as much as others and def. not insane, but still up into the thousands.

No idea. Its scary to even think about it. Way, way more than I should have done, logically. To the extent where it could well have a long-term financial impact, as well as what its done in the short term. Luckily, I have a tolerant wife. And some good friends who saved me a fortune in hotels in New York, Los Angeles and Paris.

No one put a gun to my head and made me, though, and I've had a good time doing it - even though what few gigs I'll go to on any future tour will 100% be confined to western Europe. (Aside from my own finances, the cost of the shows and risk of cancellation just makes it impractical to travel any further to see a Stones show anymore)

They havent played Belfast since 1965, so there's been a lot of travelling involved. Out of the 47 shows I've seen to date, Slane 1982 and 2007 were the only two where I came home afterwards and spent the night of the show in my own bed. I estimated the number of miles travelled to see Stones shows to be around 54,000.  Equivalent to more than two trips around the world. Just as well that most long trips involve two or more shows.

My First tkt was free in 78 at The Capital in Passaic...someone bought my tkt for Philly 81...and my first paid tkt was $12.50...the seats behind the stage were $10.50...my last tkt was at AC for $60.00...thanks to our lovely GotToRollMe...who gave me her tkt when she upgraded...

I managed to sneak into a few shows in DC...it has been like an addiction to sneak into shows for me since I was a teen in NYC

MARY...we'll always have AC, eh?!?

Thousands. Probably over 10.  Don't regret a tuppence.  Then again, I think 40 second blasts of crack cocaine vapor are as precious as the Lord's saving grace, so my perspective on the sacrific/reward/pleasure principle is all fucked up.  I may have blown $$$$$$ on the Stones and not even realize it what a lousy fucking time I had.

Gosh ... I know others here have spent boat loads more than I. Still, I have spent my thousands... from reserve tickets to merchandise...to albums.... etc. etc. I can't even come up with a figure.

Thousands have been spent on books, tickets, cds, albums, tapes, posters, tee shirts, decorations, VHS, DVD, a comic book, magazines and fan club memberships.

I'm not factoring in parking, meals, tolls, hotels, drinks and trainfare.

If I was asked to spend it all again I would...even the yearly fan club memberships. Well....maybe the first year.
