Oh man. very sorry to hear about this, Alex.

The first time I ever met you was outside the Dylan show at the Docklands in 2002 and your dad was there with you. He seemed a real gent and was very friendly.

Sorry for your loss.

Oh Alex I am so sorry to hear about your loss and that it was unexpected makes it even harder.
I remember thinking how lucky you were to have such a "hip" father when I met him in London.

Don't be too hard on yourself.  You will find the strength to get thru the next days, I am sure. When you get thru all these feelings of loss, there will always be the memories to cherish. xo

Hang in there Alex.
Not much anyone can say to make it better, I know. Just try to take it one step at a time, be easy on yourself, let it out.

Dear Alex, as I already told you in private this is a very special moment and I'm with you, my most sincere condolences for you and your relatives. To lose a father is always sad and the more you grow the more you appreciate him so I'm sure it was not easy specially that it was so quick.

Be strong my friend!  Fuck you Gazza, Will ya?

Ohhhh....Sad I am so terribly sorry to hear this, HTM/Alex. Sad I have always enjoyed your posts so much, and, even though I don't really know you, I sincerely am sad for your loss. Sad I will keep you and your family in my prayers in the coming days/weeks. This is a wonderful place to come when you need to "talk", and you have many, many friends here to want to listen--and help.

My condolences, Alex.   I had to start a thread like this here too two years ago.  Don't feel guilty.  Much as it hurts, it will diminish with time.  Life goes on.

Hi everyone,

Firstly, thank you all so much for the kind and considerate thoughts. The coroner phoned this afternoon and it does indeed appear to have been a heart attack. It was incredibly sudden and he would have felt no pain, apparently. I wish I knew his thoughts in the final seconds though. His last words before running up the stairs were: ‘I don’t feel well’ It seemed like the exact same scenario he goes through when he’s about to be sick – maybe he thought he was. At this very moment, my mum, her sister and my two brothers are out at a crematorium. He always said that he disliked the local one, so they have trekked elsewhere!

I’ll post more soon. Right now I just need to reflect, I guess.

Alex

Alex,I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad.I'm a lot older than you and my dad passed away in 1978.It was a long time ago but the memorys of his life with us will always be there. They say time is a healer and it's true.It may not seem like that now but as time go's by things will feel easier. I know it can be extremely difficult, but try to be brave, and it sounds like you have a nice family to support each other.
