Charlie Watts, drummer for the Rolling Stones will perform at the New Morning in Paris in early October 2011 for two concerts with his jazz band The ABC & D of Boogie Woogie. It consists of Axel Zwingenberger and Ben Waters, both on piano and Dave Green on bass.
The illustrious septugenarian drummer Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stone is back to his first love: jazz. He'll perform with his band The ABC & D of Boogie Woogie in the mythic and intimate room at the New Morning in Paris Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011. Two concerts are scheduled the same night, one at 18:00 and the other at 20:00.
Charlie Watts and his band will perform it's repertoire of classic jazz as well as songs from the 20's and 30's... the very opposite of rock with the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Charlie Watts and The ABC & D of Boogie Woogie (Axel Zwingenberger and Ben Waters, both on piano and Dave Green on bass) will give two concerts of an hour and a half each.
