I am very surprised that nobody here speak about the Japan earthquake that is one the most  important event of these days!

In France it's one of the main subject when you meet friends , we are all concerned by these problems .Have  the Stones no Fans in Japan ? , i don't

think so .

Here a link about the New york Times : http://www.nytimes.com/

I just want to send a message of friendship to our Japanese friends and tell them how much we admire their courage.

i come here to forget about for awhile

this story broke my heart today

http://www.theage.com.au/world/pupils-silent-wait-for-their-missing-parents-2011...

after the Chile Miners, NZ Miners, Qld floods, bushfires, Qld Cyclone, NZ Earthquake, Japan Earthquake and Tsunami... i am disaster-ed out.

I think about it, but i also need space to not think about it.

I read that story today, and to me its the saddest Japanese story i have read so far.
Not sure if i can read any more at the moment.

Time to play some loud Stones for a while.

piss off

I think like many I am still in shock as to the level of devastation and ruin those poor people have seen. Hopefully the power lines to the reactors will get the cooling pumps going or else encasing the entire plant like Cherynobel is a possibility. I can only imagine the hopelessness many are feeling now. Gee and a week ago I was complaining because Keith didnt go to the Stu show. Perspective folks.........

Early in the morning I was thinking about it and thought in was unfair not to put the typical Rocks Off Candle because this is a huge tragedy.

We don’t have Japanese regulars posting but Japan, as I have mentioned before, is always in between the top ten countries visiting this website but unfortunateluy, this month is number 23, I'm sure they have really more important things to watch on the net

No politics neccessary. Mother nature doesn't take sides. Let's just hope they can figure out what to do with the nuke plants and move on towards rebuliding.

Nature doesn't understand silly lines on maps.

My sister in law is from Japan and her folks still live in Tokyo.  All safe and sound for now.  As long as they can get those plants under control.

For decades, Japanese fans have been some of the most passionate supporters of rock and roll. Now they need our help.

Please visit the KeithRichards.com Store now to order a very special limited edition t-shirt Keith is making available. The Japan Relief t-shirt is based on a photo taken by Claude Gassian on the Japanese leg of the Steel Wheels tour in 1990 and is available in both classic and fitted styles.

Yes, that guitar is the twangy-sounding Tele he used for PIB and Ruby Tuesday in 89, is it not?  I haven't bought a rock and roll t-shirt in decades, but I think I will invest in this for my daughter.  She'll invariably cut it up, but it's for an important cause.

The possible first American casualty of the quake/tsunami is a local girl---Taylor Anderson---who was a 24 year old teacher in northern Japan. Her folks were mistakenly told that she had been found alive last week. They found her body today. Sad

No thanks! Nothing against Japan but I'm anti-KEEF since his dissing of MICK JAGGER's todger. I'm surprised KEEF even gives a shit about Japan or if this just a PR move to improve his tarnished image, or lame attempt to one-up MICK. I'm not buying it.

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards raises more than $138,000 for Japan

April 22nd, 2011 12:25 am ET
by Phyllis Pollack
Rock Music Examiner
http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-national/rolling-stones-guitarist-keith-ri...

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards' t-shirt fundraising effort to benefit Japan's earthquake and tsunami victims brought in more than $138,000.00.

Richards had vanguarded a fundraising appeal on his official website to help those affected by the devastating 8.9 Tohuku earthquake and the resulting tsunami in Japan. When making his appeal, Richards posted a statement on the site, noting, "For decades, Japanese fans have been some of the most passionate supporters of rock and roll. Now they need our help." Richards backed that statement by offering a limited edition t-shirt for sale through his website, earmarking 100% of the profits to go to the Japan Society's Earthquake Relief Fund.

Fans in more than 35 countries responded by purchasing t-shirts. The black t-shirts are emblazoned with a photo of Richards that was shot by French photographer Claude Gassian during the Japanese leg of the 1990 Rolling Stones Steel Wheels tour abroad. The highly acclaimed photographer is best known for his portraits of artists including the Stones, Bob Dylan and other recording artists.

A video can be seen on Richards' website offering his heartfelt sympathy to the people of Japan, and expressing his respect for how the people there are handling the crisis, noting his "amazing admiration." Among his comments, he said, "I really wish you all the best." With cigarette in his hand, donning his famed skull ring, Richards concluded by saying, "I hope that we can get together in better times."

Richards is urging people who want to know more ways in which they can help in the relief efforts to go to Japan Society's website.

I've heard Keith is the nicest asshole you could ever meet.
His philanthropy, is all from the heart, most of it is not publicly known... He is very generous...
